Facebook issues 'mental health' warning to CLG editor over posts
From the article:

On September 11, Facebook would *not allow me access* until I checked a box on a pop-up to acknowledge their 'substance abuse warning,' purportedly issued due to the 'nature' of my posts. The message was identical to the email I received from Facebook below, with this additional wording: 'I have read the message above,' and a box which had to be checked in order to access my account.

Why anyone would want to put all of their personal information out there for anyone (friends, enemies, law enforcement, employers) to see is beyond me.

they got all the info they need on ppl as theyve been profiling for years - thru schools, medical, employment, dmv, 3rd class junk mail/subscriptions, check/CC purchases - etc

FB just makes it easier for them to add to the file.

political correctness is a doctrine.... fostered by a delusional, illogical minority...... and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media; which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Article update this morning: Facebook Disables CLG Editor's Account Name, Claiming It Is 'Illegitimate' --'The name you entered was not approved by our system.' Despite using the name for 5 years suddenly it's not legitimate.

So does a "friend" click something that says send this to his page? Are you the only one who sees this or is this one day going to be public and show how many notices you've gotten? So far I've been able to stay away but this scenario i'm describing is where I think it will eventually go.

The problem is, even if you yourself are not on FB, you're still there via friends and family. You'd have to make them all erase everything about you, pictures, relationships, etc. And if your name was ever there in any capacity, they have you. In other words, if anyone is on FB, everyone is.

ADDED: And now, if you're not on FB, they consider you a terrorist.

It's very scary and I'm sure facebook stores this information. Reminds me of 1984 where people are encouraged to report family and friends.

Exactly! I'm not on fb but I have family that do and upload photos. So even though they don't have my info they have my photo for their facial recognition cameras.

hehehe burn... your friend clicked something saying he/she thinks you're suicidal

hope you're not cause that wouldn't be funny. But assuming you're not and they clicked that...that's kinda hilarious.

Also facebook is evil, use it only in full awareness of how disgusting it is.

Yes, facebook stores all information, every click. In Europe, you are legally allowed to demand a copy of this file. A typical user's file can be thousands of pages long and contains all those little details, that's how we know for a fact that they do record EVERYTHING - even deleted posts, etc.

Eh I read that wrong. I just assumed suicidal since I saw a headline the other day that said "fb wants to help prevent suicide or smth.

Seems like more like a warning to stop posting about your drug use on fb... no offense but seems like a good idea. If you are doing drugs why would you announce it?

And none of you think you're being profiled on here? And this is real controversy - not fB chit chat. LOL
Beyond a joke, really.
You can run but you cannot hide - and quite frankly, why bother?
What do you have to be afraid of?
*waits for the slamming* <---- whatever.

In fact, the abuse I've copped in threads here has been painful. I'll admit it. Far more than the treatment I received whilst detained.
Go figure.
Yep, insane that this is a choice.

To clarify this happened to an editor at CLG and most likely the result of a false report from a 'friend'.
