Looks like it's under the Atmoosphere. Not exploding at the top of the Atmoshpere as it should. Anyone else see this?

Doesn't look like an asteroid hit, looks more like lightning/electrical discharge. If there is no black soot markers in the clouds (like the Shoemaker/Levy comet impacts) when that area rotates back around, then it wasn't an asteroid hit.

Re: Watch Jupiter Get Hit in the Original HD Video
That sure looks just like lightning. Initiial flash and supply streamers. Timing is right and everything. Also the flash is bright white indicating extreme heat.

However, that would be the biggest lighting strike ever known!!

If, like on Earth, there is some kind of storm going on, there may be more to follow. Try to keep a watch on the area. If there is another then that would pretty much confirm it.

I. Miyazaki says:
Impact site:
257.8 L3
219.6 L2
345.8 L1

So we may have missed OR we should look for the ANTIPODE flashe at:

77.8 L3 soon

Anthony Wesley says:

"Here are two images from this morning showing the location of yesterdays fireball seen by both Dan Petersen and George Hall...

...I've attached two copies of each image, one showing the estimated location of the fireball.

I can't see anything at those locations, however the resolution and seeing was not very good this morning."

It's on the EQUATOR, which also indicates NOT an impact since the equator is not a likely target for objects of this sort.

"Lucifer Project" Monitor

This hit at the EQUATOR which makes it UNLIKELY to be an IMPACT, since objects like this avoid the equator!

Correction: +12 North

Jupiter flash, massive if electrical in nature, but said to be an "asteroid or comet impact". +12 North, L3: 257, L2: 219, L1:335.

We should look for the ANTIPODE FLASH now at around -12 South, 77 (L3) (unless we missed it already). The last antipodal flashes were separated by 78 days.

Re: Watch Jupiter Get Hit in the Original HD Video
Even though they say +12, it looks from the video closer to only half of that. +12 seems way too much. The flash appears very close to the equator from my reckoning.
