Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1477774 and the new release today that H1N1 vaccine causes the flu to spread even faster(will be covering this on just measures radio today) watch out folks this is going to get worse before it gets any better...I can go through my archived notes and find the old artical about the mutation but it would probably easier for those who are interested to just google the info(evey time I post a story or link I get banned) the best advice I have for the now started flu season is to hold on to your hats its going to be a bad one(if you are prepper get in those flu supplies) masks, cotton balls to protect your ears, goggles for eyes, rubber gloves for hands...a sick room and please remember the top 2 spreaders of germs...shopping carts and gas pump handles... kelee877 Shopping carts and gas pump handles, excellent choices! One more for that list are menu's, much action if placed under a microscope. yup I am the orginal OP of this post and low and behold I work in a restaurant and never gave thought to the menus, incased in plastic and people sneezing and drooling on them, touching them...good job pointing this out and thank you,I will be more careful in the future... |

Aussiebabe User ID: 23510313 Australia 09/12/2012 08:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We've just had a really bad season here during the winter in Oz. Most people I know have been struck down with it more than once or twice and for long periods of time ie weeks rather than days. It's not a flu...I go to an older doctor...a no BS kind of guy...he said it was the worst sinusitis he'd ever seen...which can be a reaction to air pollutants...and he said he'd treated more patients than ever with the same symptoms. The US and Europe will probably get it in their winters this year. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22552125 I have an elderly friend and her husband that has no had a flu in 15 years she swears flu shots help? We are going to get flu shot soon. I hope we don't regret it? Please re-think that remark I am posting this quote from promed(would provide link but I would probably get banned) A strange vaccine-related phenomenon spotted at the start of the 2009 flu pandemic may well have been real, a new study suggests. Canadian researchers noticed in the early weeks of the pandemic that people who got a flu shot for the 2008-2009 winter seemed to be more likely to get infected with the pandemic virus than people who hadn't received a flu shot. 5 studies done in several provinces showed the same puzzling and unsettling results. But initially research outside of Canada did not, and the effect was dismissed as "the Canadian problem." News of the unexpected findings broke at a time when countries in North America and parts of Europe were getting ready to start vaccinating their populations against the pandemic virus. )posted for fair use) |

Sure seems like something has ramped a lot of stuff up this year...... This was a July story.. Whooping cough cases approaching highest levels in half a century 2012 might be a record year for whooping cough in the United States if midyear trends continue. Nearly 18,000 cases of pertussis, or whooping cough, have been reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention so far this year - the highest rates in five years.
