I agree that PROVOKING war is unacceptable, but responding to a violent situation sometimes calls for a violent response.

If my son was starving and the next town over had food that it wouldn't share, you better believe I will be raiding the hell out of their food storage. I would try whatever I could to not steal food, but every situation will at some point cause you to think in ways you never thought possible.

If a murderer is in a room murdering a child of yours and you know if not stopped he will murder the other three who are in other rooms would you refuse to stop him?

THAT is the situation often when it comes to large groups of people's relationship with other large groups of people. Sometimes it is Nation States doing the theft/murder routine needing to be stopped, sometimes it is Warlords within a country doing the theft/murder routine.

Barbarians ALWAYS exist, and WILL take from others and kill others with NO restraint unless restrained by an outside PHYSICAL force (since their own internal mental process will NOT stop them, only encourage them to continue on their rampage).

The only people I have ever met who would NOT defend their children in such a situation, and only a very small minority of those, are a few Quakers, and a few Amish, both of whom have strong religious traditions and beliefs against violence of any sort. If you would defend your children from such an attack ... then I dare say you are not as pacifistic as you think you are.

We're not a violent species. Yeah, I know.

Now it is a war of information. Once you know the truth, the illusion evaporates and we stand in clear control of destinies and the further illusions of helplessness with also disappear. If we go to a violent war now, we know the people we fight have been as brainwashed as us. The people in combat anyway.

As of right now, enough of the truth is available to create a critical mass of people that will not submit to the facade. It's not easy, but apparently this is the right place to be. You'll feel better afterwards, I promise.

I like your point about the difference between idealism and realism and how people tend to confuse the two. But I strongly disagree that things have always been this way. The only constant is change and to think our reality is so stagnant to the way we've been TAUGHT how the world has been/is/will be is wrong.
