Windows XP here, 11 years and still running strong!

Just got a copy of windows 8. Wow! It really is shit. I can see it being a relatively good os on a tablet, but on a laptop boy is it crap. What a flop. Im so now going to Mac. Goodbye Microsoft, you really shot yourself in the foot with this one.

I'm not a Microsoft fan boy. But I have to say I really like Windows 8, have been using it now for a few weeks and while it took sometime to get used to the changes, I'm now more than happy with it. Also everything seems faster and more responsive. If I was going to buy a new laptop next year then it would be madness not to get one with a touch screen. With touch screen Im sure that windows 8 will be even better. Reckon thats where MS see the future. Anyway, think you need to give it another try and learn to use it properly.

I have to agree that this is a truly laughable attempt at a desktop operating system. Sure if you have a tablet or phone it might work.

It has done a lot of damage to the Microshaft brand already.

I have installed and used it on several computers and removed it from mine.

It is terrible which is a shame as W7 was pretty good and I thought the UI would build on that good work.

Seems like the Mac and Windows OS are becoming the same. Atleast astheticly. I thinl the new start button.shit screen is a waste of screen space. Both OSs are catering to.the casual user. Just like WoW.

Windows 8 is actually awesome as long as you install Stardock Start8 which is a start menu replacement. I did such and i've been rather happy. The OS itself is even more responsive on my machine than Windows 7.

OS X is so much better that you must be sub-normal not to see it. You have a real Unix system, with an excellent GUI development system, with all the libraries you need. You have transparent OpenCL and MMX acceleration of common mathematical tasks - without even having to code for it because of Clang and LLVM and Grand Central Dispatch.

Best thing of all, it doesn't come with Flash. It has an excellent PDF reader so you can avoid Adobe's shitware called Acrobat.

So go ahead, play with your new toy OS, the wonderful Wndows 8. It comes custom with many ones so various intelligence and law enforcement agencies can plant child porn on your machine, so their mafia friends can steal your banking information, and host spam servers. It's a win-win.

Ooh, but metro apps are installed FROM the Microft Store! Well fuck you! ALL android apps AND Mac iPxx apps are installed from therrh respective stores even your Linux Mint app manager downloads packages from the cloud and you faggots arent bitching! And you can still install traditionalwinows apps too that arent sourced from the cloud.
The Metro interface does not run from the cloud, it runs from the PC. Why dont you ignorant fucks get a clue about what your talking about before flapping your herpes gums.
Microsost motivation behind metro on win8 is unified end user experience between Windows Phone, Windows Pc and Xbox 360.
Once you really figure out the new interface, its fucking faster to get what you need.

I hated Win7 when it came out. When I tried Win8, Win7 looked alot better.
