The high frequency tone you hear.
What is it? I have allways gotten answers like "Its because someone is talking about you, someone said your name and other things I can't remember. Do any of you know or has a link to an official explanation of it, cause or just basic information on what is the random high frequency sound we sometimes suddenly hear. I know by now you probably know what I'm talking about but if you need me to further explain. Sometimes your sitting like me just now and a really high frequency tone catches your attention like if it was inside one of your ears. Just happened to me and has happened tons of times throughout my life.

Re: The high frequency tone you hear.
Some people say this is an auditory-illusion brought about the ear’s inability to detect frequencies below the threshold of the human senses. This is completely wrong. That ringing/tone covers up something else altogether. If you are quick, patient, and maybe a little lucky, you will be able to hear past the ringing. What you will hear are voices whispering to each other. They will silence themselves quickly but with practice, you will become more adept at catching and interpreting what they are saying. You will hear things of the past, the present, and the future. However, you must be careful. Because there is no such thing as a voice without a body. And when you start noticing them, they will start noticing you.

Is is the sound of the little hairs dying.

If that were true wouldn't it only happen once or twice in your life?
I have had it happen ever since I was a little girl(over 30 years ago)
I was taken to various dr's to see what was wrong with my hearing but they never found anything wrong at all.
It still happens often.
It starts low and gets louder until I cannot hear anything else but it.
It stops after a few moments but always comes back.
Btw, I have perfect hearing.

PATENT 6024700

A method of detecting a thought and generating a control instruction
corresponding to the thought includes detecting the thought by
monitoring air pressure near a human ear when a user is thinking. In
addition, the method includes providing a control instruction
corresponding to the detected thought. A system for detecting a
thought and generating a control instruction corresponding to the
thought is also disclosed and includes a pressure sensor for sensing
a pressure near a human ear when a user is thinking, wherein the
sensor produces an electrical signal corresponding to the pressure. A
processor processes the electrical signal to detect the thought,
generates the control instruction in response to the detection, and
sends a control instruction to an output peripheral which provides an
output control function corresponding to the control instruction.

Re: The high frequency tone you hear.
Guys, dont you know how your body can act as a receiver? YES ! You can pick up radio signals from your tooth fillings for example. Read below for a couple who were all alone on a boat and picked up signals from their boat mast.

Frequently Asked Questions: Teenage Orthodontic Patients (tm)
[link to www.bracesinfo.com]

Question:
"Is there any chance that I will be able to hear the radio on my braces?"

Answer:
"Well, we do not think so, but you should listen carefully to be sure.
Years ago there were reports of people hearing the radio on their fillings. At the time, radio was different. There were only a few stations and they were all AM. People also used crystals to listen to
the radio. The crystal set consisted of a "ceramic insulator" much
like a tooth covered by a metal piece which was like a bracket.
Crystal radios could pick up AM signals when they were close to the AM
station. People claimed to have heard the radio on their fillings when
they were standing by the radio transmitter and their mouth was
completely dry.

I have never heard of a report of someone hearing the radio on their
braces, though. Still, it is theoretically possible so listen
carefully! If you hear the radio on your braces be sure to tell us.

***new***

We just got a report of someone from Texas who can hear the radio on
his braces. Be sure to listen carefully. Can you hear the radio too?"

Re: The high frequency tone you hear.
Question
In 1980, my husband and I sailed from New Zealand to Hawaii and back.
Just the other day we confessed to each other that, on quiet nights in
the middle of the ocean when there was very little wind and hence very
little boat noise, we could hear voices coming from the mast. These
voices would be both male and female but you couldn't make out what
they were saying. We were both quite sober and were not under stress.
Can anyone explain this? Our mast is aluminium and the stays are made
of coiled wire.

Jenny Pollock , Nelson, New Zealand

Answers
The ghostly voices were from short-wave radio stations--possibly quite
a few of them overlapping. The mast and the rigging of a typical small
boat are just about the right size to resonate at the frequency of a
short-wave radio signal. If two items of metal are joined and there is
some corrosion between them, the junction will act as a diode and
"rectify" or demodulate the AM radio signal. This causes an
audio-frequency current to flow in the metal.

There are several mechanisms by which the audio-frequency signal could
be converted into sound waves, including causing vibration of the
rigging as the current interacts with the Earth's magnetic field.
