I gotta say this too. I watched a doc about gender. Little girls were asked why they are happy to be female. Ones response was that being female is great because they get to tell everyone else what to do. She probable learned that by watching here mom.

So after the 5th time he asked for her license and registration, should he have simply kept on listening to her ramble?

No he was supposed to follow her to her house,or a hotel so she could pee,and Then he can see her license and registration..

Since when do police have to be brutal during a speeding stop? I just don't get it. Everyone drives over the speed limit in TX and everyone knows it. Everyone also knows that these speed traps are run for revenue not for safety.

If someone is so foolish to dare a cop to arrest them, they will get what they asked for. Anyone can be arrested for probable cause and held for 72 hours legally. It isn't difficult to deal with most cops but one must follow the law in doing it.

It is the brutality to which I object. She was no threat and she told him her problem up front.

I, myself, would try to follow orders more quickly, but I will not treat the officer as a god.

Is there a law that someone can't talk/argue with a cop? Does our First Admentment stop while in a discussion with a cop? Does the cop just get to do whatever he wants if things don't happen on his time table?

Cops are not perfect and citizens should have the right to protect themselves if they feel threatened.

It has nothing to do with being a threat.

If you do not follow directions after repeatedly being ordered to do so and you are perfectly able they can make you do so.

He didnt attack her so he didn't treat her like a threat.

Id hate to know my tax dollars go to police standing for 4 hours waiting for each individual to follow directions because they are stubborn.

Just because she is 77 she doesn't have to comply with a law officer? She was rude and non compliant. The officer was relatively easy on her, tugging on her arm instead of just yanking her which he could have easily done then trying to hold her up.

If she complied he may have just ran it and 5 minutes later said be on your way ma'am.

If you can't drive within the law then your license should be revoked...if you resist arrest you should be shot. In a civilized society we fight in a court of law, not like violent Negroes and muslims in the streets...

What about the law called
"Respect your elders?"
I wonder what he would do if it was his mom?
Big deal, over the speed limit,
everyone does it, everywhere, everyday, cause you can't watch the dash and the road at the same time.
Police need to be trained in social interaction,
she ain't no combatant in war, ya know.

i love these brief posts. truth is that she was wrong. so technically the officer did not break any laws. but there is a gray area in life. even though he didnt break a law is it something he HAD to do? keep in mind if she flees that vehicle is a 1 ton weapon. so this isnt open and shut. i think people are just fed up with cops talking to civilians like they are judge dread and we are all disgusting criminals. people will usually give the same respect they receive. if someone is that anti social maybe he shouldnt be a cop. this could have been handled differently.
