artificial brain in which to transfer one’s individual consciousness with the goal of achieving cybernetic immortality
[link to 2045.com]

"The 2045 initiative has received the blessing and support from the Dalai Lama, as it prepares to announce the second Global Future 2045 Congress, being held in New York, June, 2013.

Dmitry Itskov, founder of 2045, met His Holiness Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, in his residence in Dharamsala, a small mountain town in northern India.

They discussed the three major steps of 2045 Avatar Project. First, the creation of a human-like robot dubbed “Avatar A,” and a state-of-the-art brain-computer interface system to link the mind with it. Next, it be created a life support system for the human brain, which connects to the “Avatar A,” turning into “Avatar B.” The third step, named “Avatar C”, is developing an artificial brain in which to transfer one’s individual consciousness with the goal of achieving cybernetic immortality."

ya, for murderers that are given 25 consecutive life scentences. Or for regular people who are framed by fake evidence and given eternal scentences for no reason what so ever except to get rid of them and make everyone else obey.

add torture and let sit out in the sun

But the human body can't travel through vast amounts of space, and what will they do with their travel toy they have been working on?

Guys for those with souls; immortality is already yours for the taking. why would you want a physical vehicle that doesn't progress spiritually and that you can't take to other higher realms where spirit beings dwell?

Would you trade your immortality for a decaying body?

Good, let us move forward with science and technology. Transhumanism should be the goal we all strive for, rather than throwing sticks and stones at each other over outdated concepts and petty war.

The barbarians and simpletons that oppose the opportunities this could grant are doing themselves and any who listen to them a disservice.

His "Holiness" is a CIA asset, so it is claimed. Moreover, one would think that as a "master" of "esoteric Buddhist wisdom, HH might opt for the usual path of death followed by rebirth, etc. Anyway the crass, terminally arrogant and clueless, hyper materialist psychopaths "running the show" certainly fear death. So this delusion that they are facilitating, no doubt using taxpayer dollars through one scam or another, are in for a rather rude awakening "when the time comes", some surmise.

Once you are 'transferred' into a computer, how do you get yourself OUT?? Yes, OUT of the computer when YOU decide that it is time to die - whatever that entails?

Eventually we would get weary of life and living in that virtual or simulated world. I cannot imagine that as long as shred of your humanity remained that you would not insist on having access to a "final exit" or an "escape hatch" whereby your data, copies, back-up's and your soul and mind if there in the midst of the thoughts and info we call "You" would at long last be released to go on to wherever they're heading - or to nothingness if that's the case. There would have to be a way out of this manmade eternity. Otherwise it might turn out to be hell on earth, not heaven!

Don't worry. It ain't gonna happen. In my opinion - they're dreamin' BIG time. I cannot perceive how consciousness can even work like that. It's all connected - there is intelligence in our bodies - not just our brain. The study of yoga will teach you this. Expand/extend/breathe/release... it's amazing what memories come into the conscious mind during these practises, actually.
They're deluded to think they can isolate something that is so interdependant upon the whole of the being - and even the universal mind...
idiots.

BTW. you couldnt feel joy, you couldnt feel horny, you could not feel excitement or butterflies or love. Those are all given thru hormonal chemicals.

A machine cannot stimulate production of oxytocin , testosterone, opiates, vasopressin etc...

Its those hormones that give us drive, excitement, passion and affection.

really stupid, if you are a decent soul, your father fragment saves you, and all that is not necessary. it is only for the bad dudes and this is problem in the universe that is being resolved, because you make yourself a machine mind and that is not good.

Re: artificial brain in which to transfer one’s individual consciousness with the goal of achieving cybernetic immortality
This sort of leaves a bad feeling in my gut.

"What are the main phases of the Avatar Project?

Among the featured life-extension projects, the first is to create a humanoid robot dubbed “Avatar”, and a state-of-the-art brain-computer interface system. The next phase consists of creating a life support system for the human brain and connect it to the “Avatar”. The final phase of this project is to create an artificial brain in which to transfer the original individual consciousness into.

There is a fourth step that we hope to attain, but is not part of our main goals right now. This fourth step is to create a hologram body, or a body of light."

Re: artificial brain in which to transfer one’s individual consciousness with the goal of achieving cybernetic immortality
Voluntary suicide.

There can be no transfer, there can only be a copy (and no method has even been conceptualized in any practical way to date btw).
A copy that may have all your memories and insist it is really you.

But what happens to the original?
The biological you?

Is the machine going to suck your mind out of the flesh of your brain leaving behind empty matter?

Reminds me of an old star trek episode where one character mentions the theory that the matter transporter actually kills the user and creates a perfect copy at the other end with all the memories and traits of the original.

Heck it can be argued that every time you enter deep unconscious sleep the "you" that wakes up is just reconstructed from all the memories and traits of the "you" that went to sleep... but it is not the same "you".

Just read that Bradbury story about the android that thinks it really is the man it has covertly replaced, it's a common enough theme and a valid question that these singularity tards rarely acknowledge.

Before we start making grand predictions of transferring consciousness into machines maybe we should try to understand what consciousness actually is first... or even if it exists at all hmm?

My point here being, lofty promises of technological immortality by known nwo sympathizers are dubious at best, so be wary.

Don't forget, the Dalai Lama may wear beads and blankets... but he's still one of the global elite.

All of you, human egos, without a clue as to what true immortality (aka, God) is about, are not worthy of such an artificial brain because YOU are already artificial and I can't even imagine (without vomiting) having the likes of you of ME around for perpetuity.

What they are wanting to do is in our dimension of time.
According to our maker, when we die our soul is already given eternity either in heaven or hell. But I guess they don't believe in this.

I think we will merge with the energy of creation that was before us but in a way next time that it will be us in bodies with the power of the universe and creation to bring about a new existence. The energy may have to move again at some point then all is made good and the path is clear. The only creation we could ever give back to the beings is musical instruments

No.

I used to use this argument myself but it's wrong bro. :/

All those emotions and more have been created in a laboratory setting by directly stimulating the brain.

It's not your gland that's "feeling" the emotion, the gland is causing the brain to make "you" feel it... dig?

It's still naught without the brain to feel it, just like your eye is worthless without a brain to decode the pattern of photons that enter your pupil.

So those hormones just signal the brain to "feel" a certain way, well we can generate emotions directly in the brain with other stimuli, magnetic fields, currents, all sorts of stuff.... stuff that meshes well with technology, which I suspect is why futurists find it so compelling.

There's plenty of studies and experiments worth reading about.
