Transhumanism should be the goal we all strive for, rather than throwing sticks and stones at each other over outdated concepts and petty war. The barbarians and simpletons that oppose the opportunities this could grant are doing themselves and any who listen to them a disservice. Man needs to evolve. |

Yes, OUT of the computer when YOU decide that it is time to die - whatever that entails? Eventually we would get weary of life and living in that virtual or simulated world. I cannot imagine that as long as shred of your humanity remained that you would not insist on having access to a "final exit" or an "escape hatch" whereby your data, copies, back-up's and your soul and mind if there in the midst of the thoughts and info we call "You" would at long last be released to go on to wherever they're heading - or to nothingness if that's the case. There would have to be a way out of this manmade eternity. Otherwise it might turn out to be hell on earth, not heaven! |

I cannot perceive how consciousness can even work like that. It's all connected - there is intelligence in our bodies - not just our brain. The study of yoga will teach you this. Expand/extend/breathe/release... it's amazing what memories come into the conscious mind during these practises, actually. They're deluded to think they can isolate something that is so interdependant upon the whole of the being - and even the universal mind... idiots. "What are the main phases of the Avatar Project? Among the featured life-extension projects, the first is to create a humanoid robot dubbed “Avatar”, and a state-of-the-art brain-computer interface system. The next phase consists of creating a life support system for the human brain and connect it to the “Avatar”. The final phase of this project is to create an artificial brain in which to transfer the original individual consciousness into. There is a fourth step that we hope to attain, but is not part of our main goals right now. This fourth step is to create a hologram body, or a body of light." |

There can be no transfer, there can only be a copy (and no method has even been conceptualized in any practical way to date btw). A copy that may have all your memories and insist it is really you. But what happens to the original? The biological you? Is the machine going to suck your mind out of the flesh of your brain leaving behind empty matter? Reminds me of an old star trek episode where one character mentions the theory that the matter transporter actually kills the user and creates a perfect copy at the other end with all the memories and traits of the original. Heck it can be argued that every time you enter deep unconscious sleep the "you" that wakes up is just reconstructed from all the memories and traits of the "you" that went to sleep... but it is not the same "you". Just read that Bradbury story about the android that thinks it really is the man it has covertly replaced, it's a common enough theme and a valid question that these singularity tards rarely acknowledge. Before we start making grand predictions of transferring consciousness into machines maybe we should try to understand what consciousness actually is first... or even if it exists at all hmm? My point here being, lofty promises of technological immortality by known nwo sympathizers are dubious at best, so be wary. Don't forget, the Dalai Lama may wear beads and blankets... but he's still one of the global elite. 'Magically Delicious' |

No. I used to use this argument myself but it's wrong bro. :/ All those emotions and more have been created in a laboratory setting by directly stimulating the brain. It's not your gland that's "feeling" the emotion, the gland is causing the brain to make "you" feel it... dig? It's still naught without the brain to feel it, just like your eye is worthless without a brain to decode the pattern of photons that enter your pupil. So those hormones just signal the brain to "feel" a certain way, well we can generate emotions directly in the brain with other stimuli, magnetic fields, currents, all sorts of stuff.... stuff that meshes well with technology, which I suspect is why futurists find it so compelling. There's plenty of studies and experiments worth reading about. 'Magically Delicious' |
