St. Paul is never very succinct.
Here is his Hebrews 12 citation:

5. And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of HIM:

6. For whom the Lord loveth HE chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom HE Receiveth.
7. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with Sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

8. But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye Bastards, and not Sons.

9. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

10. For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but HE for our profit, that we might be partakers of HIS Holiness.

What father does not chasten his son or daughter out of love and desire to help them?

"...Shall we not much rather be In Subjection Unto The Father Of Spirits, and live?"

Would that ALL ministers, teachers, preachers and any other who presume to guide or counsel others In The Lord, were actually In-HIM.

Paul has another citation in 2nd Timothy 2 where he advises Timothy that any who would bring The Word, "MUST first Be Partakers Of The Fruits", meaning first Be Born-Again...
1. Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
3. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
5. And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
6. The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
7. Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

Most Laodicean Christian ministers etc do not even Believe in Christ Jesus' Divinity... Such is The Church in This Day and Time...
