Did any of you in school ever go through little tours of things or simulations of situations? its all a little foggy to me (but of course one of the memories is) and i just remembered it and found it weird. idk call me paranoid but whatever this is GLP right?
I remember going in those little blood drive type vans and getting shown all kinds of stuff, and i remember a "real life" fire drill where they put us in a room and they simulated the whole damn house thing as if it was on fire and we had to find our way out.
i know that it sounds a little farfetched, but i guess i wonder why only some of us got to do that and others didnt. we were very young...

Yeah I vaguely remember such shit I put it down to the adults of the time being mildly retarded or under the influence of herpes.

Sounds like someone got a killer education! All I got to do was go to some museums and a dairy farm.

No simulated burning building or rides in creepy vans.

Sigh. You were so lucky. Someone wanted you to really experience the world.

this was different though. foggy. only a select few could go into certain places i just cant for the life of me remember what all it was and its just kinda bothering me. i think maybe the nickelodeon truck came to our school?? i dont know

Re: Did you ever go for "tours" in school? I'm not talking field trips
I remember being taken into rooms doing the hearing tests, I remember being taken into a room and being asked questions that I would later hear in life, they were questions to gauge IQ, in my youth I scored exceptionally well, so well in fact, that I recall them being skeptical. They asked me to relate the similarities between a tree and a fly, and I responded with them both having exoskeletons. I recall a few other tests, few years later I recall them bringing me into the library to solve a matrix.

I recall the program name being something akin to "ables" program.
Due to my dodging of actual at home school work, I was removed from the program for having a D in french, yet this matrix test had taken place in high school, and the initial testing was done when I was in the third to fifth grade.

Besides that, the tours I recall are as such:

There was a mobile home that was decked out by the fire dept. They had showcased a bunch of fire hazards and had us children point out as many as we could find. I recall getting a view of the firetruck or the ambulance during this excursion.

We did the simulated fire drill, where we had to navigate evacuating the school on multiple occasions, yet only once did they simulate smoke by having the adults flap blankets above a bunch of children on their knees crawling to an exit.

I recall also one day where there was a truck that had crashed in front of the school, for some reason the entire school shut down and everyone was forced to stand outside.
The truck had started on fire, and yet I was curious as to why the school officials would have everyone stand in closer proximity to the danger, rather than behind the walls.
Perhaps it was the danger of glass.

o ya i remember classes like those, pretty weird. i always remember i would get pulled out of class every week to go talk to a counselor but i dont know what about or even what i said lol. idk i just remember taking those tests and at one point during tone of the tests i got this bad feeling or something and i just started filling out all the answers as d or c so i didnt go as far up the pyramid of talented and gifted kids programs. middle school was a completely different story lol

I remember the vans. They still visit schools here.

I remember visiting a mobile library in one of those vans while on holiday.

26 next month.

I recall the blood drives, I recall them offering pizza to all donors. I even recall a pet shampooing truck at the school, and the thing is... we didn't have animals there aside from a hamster/gerbil if i recall correctly.

I recall the fire preparedness training requiring students to map out their house.

And now, having put lots of thought into those tests... I recall the hearing tests didn't have eye exams to go with it, nor did it have the scoliosis tests done at the same time, so these tests were not part of a physical check up, and they were mandatory and not just for athletes.

During the IQ test they also did they ink blot tests, and during the hearing test, they had another type of test but I cannot remember what it was. I do recall a few of the other questions asked.

During the scoliosis testing I recall mandatory vaccinations of some sort, yet I believe I had all my required shots before having to had been submitted to those injections.

When I was young, and this was about 1980, I remember one where we studied the inside of the human body. So I guess it was a mobile science van.

i remember very similar things now...i dont really know what it was lol. i just felt confused all the time like.. "wait, what am i doing now?" i remember in high school a man came up to me in the library and asked me if i needed someone to talk to....i was doing just fine and i said no. he kept asking me if there was anything i needed to talk to him about, he came across as a head school counselor of sorts i dont really remember all he said what i do know is that was the weirdest shit ever. school was strange for me to say the least...all throughout. lots of tests on the body...i think they were asking questions when they were doing the test. all in some white room.

does a white room ring a bell with anybody? just in general? ve been having nightmares of being in white rooms i wont go into further detail just curious if others have experienced anything similar

white rooms I don't recall as well, when I was young yes, I had a fever, no matrix style interrogation as far as I remember, I was far too young, probably unrelated.

I too had odd run ins with the counselor. Being pulled from class with no explanation, also being asked if I needed someone to talk to... Idk idk.... repressed memories friend.... hard to dig up again.
