Best advice so far ,But! Do you get the feeling that other aspects of this persons life that may be relevent to his state of mind were not included when he posted , also curious about his profession .

At least GLP can say they have saved at least one life.

There is a wonderful mix of schizo's, rednecks, and new-age loonies that keep things interesting on this site but very little to be taken seriously. Believing this stuff is just going to make you more of an outcast. Get out into the real world and get some fresh air.

Find some British GLPers and have a meet up, OP. You are never alone. That can be comforting and scary at the same time.LOL

I was caught up in some stupid ban, so I haven't been on here in about six weeks. Today I got on, yay! That being said, I can't say that glp has made me feel better about life. If anything, it is extremely depressing to see the amount of intolerance and racial slurs, and anger that just fills so many posts. But, it is interesting if you stick to the "out there" stuff, and you can learn things here you'll never see on the "normal" news. I never knew about Niribu until I came here. Yes, I'm ashamed!
So, OP, I think you need to take the advice of the poster who said to get out in the fresh air, as that usually helps me to think more clearly. Good luck to you.

Social media sites and forums are a mixed blessing. They can be a godsend to housebound folks or those who lack social confidence but they can make a natural tendency to be reclusive even worse. I once met someone who said he had lost the ability to interact with people off screen and he hardly ever went out. Also a friend's husband has been diagnosed with depression after he ended up being totally obsessed with Facebook - spending virtually every waking hour on it and excluding the people in his life as a result.

I used to make fun of family members for being on GLP.

Now I know it's one of the most entertaining sites on the net. I have learned a lot too. I'd be so bored without it. :)
