Should Youtube Remove "Innocence of Muslims"

I voted yes. Normally I support freedom of speech and do not advocate the suppression of something that some people claim is offensive. A person or group that is offended isn't being forced to watch something they don't like. They can always turn the "off" button.

I make an exception in this case because of the catastrophic behavior of those who have been offended. They have killed people, after all. Anything that is causing such an insane reaction should be withdrawn, or at the very least kept away from people who will react that way. Maybe it's safe to show the film in non-Muslim countries, but with people being killed in terrorist attacks, and the movie being so crummy it isn't worth watching anyway, is it really worth the risk?

I voted no and gave you 5 *'s. If someone is offended by the film they have the choice not to watch it. i realize having a choice is a strange concept for savages, but they should try it sometime.

I voted no. No one is forced to watch it. I have not yet and still may not watch it. But removal is the thin end of the wedge that will eventually result in the removal of everything, even educational things that some group or other do not like. I am one of the 6 billion people who are potentially offended by some of the Islamic stuff up there, but have made no war over it, or request it be removed. They are going to look for excuses for violence and we will be forced to face up to them at some time. If this is allowed to be removed then it will be a precedent that will eventually lead to all criticism of Islam becoming a criminal act.

I agree - taking it down they win. And that crappy nasty film (I watched it) is just being used as an excuse to justify the violence. These people who are rioting and hurting people, they were already of that mind set, ready to rage. Yesterday I heard one of the chants 'America we have one billion Bin Ladens'. We do need 'backbone'.

grow a heart? right, and what does one do with a heart when one is cowering in fear under your bed? people have been dying in my counrty for freedom of speech for over two centuries. we fought the british for freedom, but they were at least a noble and worthy foe. a lot of people in my country fought and died for the freedoms we enjoy, and now a canadian would have us crawl on our bellies to these animals?

The Christian Science Monitor is reporting that aside from the 14 minute clip shown on YouTube, this anti-Islam movie does not appear to actually exist. Someone took footage from a low budget movie called "Desert Warrior", did a fast overdub to add the offensive comments, and put it out on the net to obscure the fact that these people in the lands attacked by the US are actually angry over invasion, conquest, looting, drone strikes against civilians, torture, and being shot at by the United States on behalf of Israel.

YouTube removes a lot of videos that are legal. Such as shocking or violent content.

They have the call. Legally they don't have to remove anything unless it's underage violence nudity etc.

This will be left up and even if they attempt to take it down it will reappear again and again. You can't stop a video like this. Too many have already downloaded it.

Youtube as a business should weight the finanial pros and cons if removing the film an base its choice in that.

It's a private business and not our govt. If youtube feels removing the film is best or them then so be it. As long as the US govt doesnt insist in anything, im fine with w/e they decide.
