In reference to Israel You should keep reading. God divorced Israel. They are no longer special. He has only reserved 144,000 of them. The rest will die. The jewish people lost their place because of unbelief and now the Christians are the inheritors of the blessings. The current state of Israel is an affront to God. The observant jewish people know this. They say it all the time. I would counter with the same advice; keep reading... Yes, G-d divorced Israel - but you have to understand the Law (torah) and how it relates to divorce/salvation in context of Israel. In order for G-d to renew his covenant with Israel (the People not Country), He; the Word, became flesh and was executed on the tree (not cross -- see torah again for how a person hung from a tree is cursed; as in Y'shua ("jesus") took on the curse/sin of the world). If you study the Law and how it pertains to a divorcee (Israel) she cannot marry the same man who divorced her or it would be destable since she's gone off to be with another man (the world)...UNLESS the original husband dies.
