Anonymous Coward User ID: 22089462 Netherlands 09/16/2012 06:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The New York Times editorial of October 2, 1999, defends the display of Andres Serrano’s Piss Christ and Chris Ofili’s The Holy Virgin Mary: Quoting: mathetes A museum is obliged to challenge the public as well as to placate it, or else the museum becomes a chamber of attractive ghosts, an institution completely disconnected from art in our time. The New York Times editorial of September 12, 2012, condemns the display of The Innocence of Muslims: Whoever made the film did true damage to the interests of the United States and its core principle of respecting all faiths. Whatever happened to “challenging the public”? Or is that obligation rendered non-obligatory when a certain public responds to challenges by killing people? I fully agree with the sentiment (and I'm pretty liberal :P). Their current reasons should not be a consideration whether something should or should not be banned. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 22089462 Netherlands 09/16/2012 06:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No kidding, where is the outrage you liberal commie scums who live in NYC. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23802383 I posted against people reasoning it should be banned for blasphemy or w/e. I don't see much reason in calling for turning the ME into a large glass plain though. And claiming that that is what every conservative wants is around as retarded as what your post pertains. |

They have a wish to be beheaded. Fight Islam now or admit we as a society are suicidal. I chose life. You do too. For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. |

If it was better maybe they would praise it. Not only is it inflammatory, its poorly done. Personally I have no problem with its existence, to me its a who the fuck cares kinda issue. yet its clear that I am in the minority on this one. I love you. |

I'd say the NYT and Liberals in general should be ashamed, but they never are, unless some Citizen shamefuly makes light of Islam in any way, shape or form. ____________________________________________________ E-mail anytime [email protected] Inquiring about a ban?, include the IP address found here. Quoting: AlaskaLove Art is different to everyone, I think the muslims are not angry about the film though, I think it is a false flag event to make us hate them. It's only a pretense that the Muslims are going apeshit over this film because this clown show Administration and the slobbering media has to blame anything but Obama and the admin's absolute incompentency. They are still angry over this film, but it's not the real reason behind tyhe scope and scale of this latest "outrage". That reason is that Obama has not only allowed the Islamic radical fundies to make gains of power they only dreamed of a mere year ago, he actually helped them do it. When we are seen as weak and coddling to them, they take advantage and take over whatever they can. When they make gains?...Anti-American sentiment increases and things like this latest mass protest and burning down embassies are the result. ____________________________________________________ E-mail anytime [email protected] Inquiring about a ban?, include the IP address found here.
