Not really, it seems to be all about "alt-rock" these days.

I remember the difference between the Pearl Jam Ten album, which was epic, and their second album coincidentally named 'Yield' where they completely sold out and went fag stream. They stopped inspiring their fans.

Not trying to be anal, but PJ released like three studio records and a zillion live records between Ten and Yield.

Anything that Jack White touches kind of rocks. Try looking that up.

No band like U2 since late 80's.
Best tour ever with Zoo Tv in 1992... Bono voice now isn't as powerful as late 80's and 90's but Edge is better than ever and their tours blow any band away.

I know lots of people hate Bono but U2 are great and the best live band ever.

The Foo Fighters and a NZ band named Shihad,also Head like a hole another NZ band.

I'm a fan of incubus and modest mouse. It is still considered "alternative rock" but I think these bands form their own genre.

Not their mainstream stuff either but the songs you don't hear on the radio

Oh and like the guy a few posts above said. Radiohead is pretty good.
