We want God to change our circumstances, but God wants to use our circumstances to change us.
It can be easy to think that God is obligated to make life easy for us and to remove all of our difficult circumstances. But, the truth is that during hard times God is preparing us for greater things. If He removed the difficult circumstances in our lives, we would probably never mature.

James 1:2-4 says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." In other words, rejoice in "trials of many kinds", because they test your faith, which causes you to grow closer to God. Indeed, God assures us that something beneficial can come from the hard times in life.

There are 4 Great Cycles/Ages of “human” evolution (which involves the involution of the spirit/soul).

Golden Age = We were mostly spiritual in nature, very little matter.
= 720 Divine Years = 720 X 360 = 259,200 common years.

Silver Age = Less spiritual, more matter.
= 540 Divine Years = 540 X 360 = 194,400 common years

Copper Age = Ever less spiritual and more and more matter
= 360 Divine Years = 360 X 360 = 129,600 common years

Iron Age = Spirit is now in the dense, barbarial age/state of its involution (it is now mostly matter), and became more and more gross until it reached the very lowest point of the Iron Age and then began the evolution of matter back
to Spirit.
= 180 Divine Years = 180 X 360 = 64,800 common years

God doesn't want. People do.
God is light and truth and hope and
Love does not want.

We change in the light of our circumstance or lose being.

As the plant must shift beneath the canopy of its neighbor

As the Giraffe must reach the higher bough

As the camel eases through desert extreme

As the cheetah gains over the rabbit.

As the marsupial thrives on a plant found toxic to others

As the child clings to the breast and the mother clings to the child who becomes the mother and the father changed.

Growth fails without intention which is worthless without action.

To be or not IS the question.

Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Mat 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Mat 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.

Mat 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Mat 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Jam 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

Jam 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

Jam 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Jam 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

Considering that Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith, we know we have Him to go to in time of need. He's a present help in need, He's here for us, always. I often times want circumstances to change and have prayed for that to happen, but 9 out of 10 times the circumstances don't change and even often times get worse. This for sure can cause people to reject God for not helping them. We see the bad circumstance and try to take God's place by praying real hard to change it, if it isn't changed right away we pray even harder, working hard for the result. With Jesus as our focus, we find that the circumstances don't change, but He miraculously can change everything. Jesus goes straight to the core of the issue...our heart and mind. He changes us from the inside out, because if He changed the outside in, we can find any number of excuses as to why the circumstances changed, how luck was surely on our side. Jesus is the only one I know who could change everything without a thing changing! Jesus is the only one who can do this, we attempt to look for relationships or money/posessions to do this thinking that if only we had this or that we would be happy. Well we all know the truth about that, it doesn't make us happy, ok maybe it can to a certain degree, but it doesn't make a lasting eternal interior change. Often times we're looking for soemthing to happen to make us happy. The word happy is from the word happenstance, or something has to happen in order to be happy. So we constantly search for something to happen to make us happy. We know that with Jesus, nothing has to happen to experience His joy and peace, because He is those things. We need only go to Him, we need only seek Him to find real lasting peace. (But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:5-7) Jesus is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him...He is the rewarder and the reward! It's Him we seek and Him we find! The author and finisher of our faith, our first and lasting love, unchangeable, unblemished, undistorted, absolute truth/reality. Jesus.

...so the verse James 1:2-4 that the OP quoted sounds like rubbish, right? I know exactly what you mean. That's how I feel when things get ridiculously hard. This is why you need to seek Jesus in your situation. It sounds too good to be true, right? Well Jesus is not too good to be true, He is the real Truth. He is what really, really matters. I know this sounds like too simple of an answer, but He is the simplest of answers, it is totally simple to find Him, he's right where we are, right here, He's present. He can change everything for you, but like I said earlier, he does it from your heart and mind out. He resides in your heart if you believe that He died, rose and lives. He is alive and well, we need that wellness, we're tired of these problems that we're encountering daily. Go to Jesus my friend, He is the only one who can change everything wrong even though it may look like nothing is changing. He will change your heart, and when that happens, everything we see is different, absolutely miraculous...seek Him, please, he is 100% faithful to meet you right where you are. Jesus, period
