You sure he wrote him for expired meter? Even though the meter has time left they mark the tires because you're only supposed to stay there for a certain time and some people re feed the meter.

1 hour parking, he stayed longer than an hour and re fed the meter the parking guy marks your tires comes back if you still there he fines you.

Did you watch the video before you started your flap trap up? The ticket was for "meter expired". Clearly it wasn't expired.

Limit is an hour, so it's expired even though he kept feeding it...

Happened to me in downtown Birmingham, AL about a month ago but I couldn't prove it.

I had a ticket when I got back that had been there for 8 minutes and my timer expired less than 2 minutes before I got back to my car.

They don't get commission. That just shows the spite for people or pleasure they get from screwing someone.

Just sad.

I know parking limitations serve a purpose for businesses and customers alike, but keep issuing $60+ penalties for parking violations in your area and soon there will be no people parking and soon after that there will be no business.

And maybe....just maybe, THAT is the intention. No threat of parking violations at your nearest big box store right?

i have had this happen also. Fucking ass left a ticket on my windshield, and i had 12 minutes left

The 1 HOUR PARKING is for weekdays between the hours of 9am-5pm, THE METER is for weekends, and is not LIMITED to 1 hour, but only to what the meter is fed. The meter is also for the 1 hour weekdays.

I had a meter maid do this to me a few years ago. I noticed that they had to pad it by around 14 min. which gave me enough time to drive to the county office and show the clerk. If it ever happens again I WILL SUE...AND SOMEONE MUGHT LOSE A JOB!!!

if the argument is that the car was there for longer than an hour (AND THE SIGN APPLIED TO THE DAY/TIME THIS HAPPENED) THEN EVEN STILL, the ticket should not be recognized as valid because the 'offence' didn't happen.

i dont see how the local government could argue that 'expired meter' means the same thing as parking in a space for longer than 1 hour ... because they on their face, aren't the same thing. doesn't the government have a higher burden to meet.. i mean, if i shot someone, but i was charged with stabbing someone... wouldn't my case get thrown out????

there was cleaerly 5 minutes left on the meter.... and the 3rd world man did not seem comfortable, so in my common sence approach to reasoning, i would imagine he felt GUILTY about something... namely giving someone a ticket with 5 minutes to go when 99% of the time his GUESS that they wont be there in the next 5 minutes is right... ??? OR at the least they wouldn't be like SUPER READY TO NAIL HIM with a decent mega-pixel camera... but it's 2012... and the TV has convinced everyone since 9/11 they should be afraid of terrorists... or intelligent people who are bored and sick of evil people getting away with murder 24/7 over sheep.. so this citizen was prepared for ANY scenario and nailed him.

good for him.. too bad he will probably be charged with harassing the meter maid, sentenced to 6 months in jail, and most likely get raped in prison. =(

Most towns are just looking for anything they can find to write a ticket.They need the funds badly and tickets bring in money.

you're right... they probably told the poor meter maid to write the tickets even if 5 minutes is left... because by definition, that gives the meter maid 'more time' to find other violators, real or make believe.. to ticket.

Sure and how many are written when there is time left on the meter that is never known because when the person does get back to the car they are late.Many could be written before time is up because if its that close the majority of the time the person wont be back n time to know it was written early.

By then they do owe the ticket so none the wiser it was written early
