COLORADANS - "NO" To Stricter Gun Laws

Two months after shooting suspect James Holmes allegedly shot 12 people to death and injured another 58 in an Aurora movie theater, Coloradans are staunchly against stricter gun-control laws, a new Denver Post poll shows.

Fifty-six percent said it was more important to protect the right to own guns versus 39 percent who said controlling gun ownership and 5 percent who answered they weren't sure. Men tended to be more likely to defend gun ownership, with 63 percent supporting the right to own guns and 32 percent saying gun control was more important.

Women, meanwhile, were more divided on the question, with 49 percent saying the right to own guns was more important versus 46 percent saying gun control was more important.

The findings of the Post/SurveyUSA poll are similar to other, national polls that have shown Americans have softened their support for stricter gun controls in recent years despite mass shootings such as the one for which Holmes stands accused.

Soon after the Denver shootings, President Obama said it was time to put stricter gun-control measures in place. With the failure of Attorney General Holder’s “Fast and Furious” ploy to void the 2nd Amendment, it seems Obama thought he might capitalize on the Denver shootings to further damage the Constitution. The negative public reaction to his words, however, sent Obama backtracking, and senior Democrats like Senator Reid and Representative Pelosi quickly made public remarks to bury the issue – for now.

Obama said gun laws must be changed but only in a way that protected Americans’ cherished tradition of hunting. Well, hunting game is not the central concern of the 2nd Amendment. What is central is that the 2nd Amendment protects the right of Americans to be armed in case they decide there is a need, in Jefferson’s words, “to alter or to abolish [the government]” and “to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

British General Thomas Gates’ first moves was to try to seize the munitions and ordnance the colonists had stockpiled around Boston. One reason for the British Army’s ill-fated expedition to Lexington and Concord in April, 1775, for example, was to capture the colonists’ stores of cannon, muskets, and munitions.

Whenever you have strong gun control on the table,
gun atrocities happen.
Columbine happened when Colorado considered a strong gun
law.
Since the UN announced a treaty (backed by Hillary and Obama),that would eventually outlaw guns, there have been several gun attacks, most notably
the theater shooting.
The intended result is to scare people into giving up
their guns, but the effect is quite often the opposite.
People tend to want guns even more, as protection, they
know the cops can't help much.

shooting back. It has nothing to do with crime and evrything
to do with bullshit like agenda 21 and other efforts to

They make some .22 handguns that hold something like 18 rounds.
More rounds, cheaper ammo, cheaper gun, lighter gun, more concealable, less recoil...Complainers about lack of power start to really lose arguments when weighed against the positives.

Even without the knockdown power, imagine how awful the bad guy's gonna feel with 18 holes in him.

More gun control means more crime. Areas with tighter gun control consistantly have higher violent crime rates. The reason is quite simple. Criminals prefer unarmed victims. If there had been armed citizens in that theater, the gunman would not have had the opportunity to shoot so many people. Even a little .380 will scare a gunman into taking cover instead of shooting unopposed.

Ruger has a 25 round magazine for their 10/22 that feeds like butter. I have seen them on sale for $20. I read LOTS of competition shooters will go back to a .22 and work on basics if they are having problems. I go thru 2 bricks a month and .22's are a blast without breaking the bank.

If you move to Colorado, find the heavy equipment dealer closest to DIA. That way when the shit hits the fan you can "borrow" a D9 and make sure the air intakes are buried under 30 fett of dirt and rock. That will get the NWO ass holes up to the surface where they can be handled appropriately.

As far as being a good place to move,I guess that depends what city you wanna live in. To be honest though I dont think were any safer here in Co. They may be setting up shop here but they will be in fortified bunkers and what not. And lets not forget we got norad here too. Im sure that would be one of the main tatgets of an attack.
