The local press in Arizona has NEVER had so many calls which it did over the past two years over the same thing : that massively bright object in the sky. Everyone is talking about how it has never been this bright, young and old.

No, I do not know that Venus is out of control. In fact, I KNOW that it is not out of control at all. I know it's exactly as bright as it is predicted to be by mainstream astronomy, and that is what I have proven here. You can handwave to all the anecdotes you like, quantitative photometry is a far higher standard of evidence.

By doing this analysis I have used my knowledge for good, and I wasn't paid to do so, in fact it cost me money out of pocket (literally). Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed doing it, but I am the opposite of a shill. I just follow the evidence wherever it leads. Volcanoes have fuck all to do with it.

The magnitude scale is the same as it was back then, you don't need the optical equipment to be the same. I calibrated the image relative to stellar magnitude using Sirius, that's why it doesn't matter. That's the whole point of this formula:
Magnitude (of unknown) = -2.5*log10(intensity of unknown/intensity of known) + magnitude (of known)

No, the truth of the matter is that Venus is not abnormally bright. Reality doesn't care what your eye thinks.

June 2001 Venus was the brightest thing in the early morning sky. Friggin thing looked like an plane landing. I tend to think it's brighter in the morning that time of year.

You should be thanking me rather than trying to shut me up. I pay to have an avatar and embed pictures, why not pay a little to acquire real data and do some real research? If anything, I find the latter more enjoyable.

I don't have as much time as you think, which is one more reason why being able to control the telescope remotely was advantageous. Having a doctorate means I appreciate and enjoy doing real research with rigorous methods.
