Why ambassador Christopher Stevens was sent to death in Benghazi? Why he was in the Beghazi CONSULATE, instead of the embassy in TRIPOLI?

Benghazi was considered perfectly safe, since it was the major city most hostile to Ghaddafi and most friendly to the US.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23962475 The civil war ended ONE YEAR AGO. The sources quoted by the media this past week say that ambassador Christopher Stevens was "often seen in the cafes of Tripoli". I'm pretty sure he lived in the embassy in Tripoli, not in the consulae in Beghazi. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23966457 Yeah, the embassy in Tripoli was more secure but the city of Benghazi was friendlier. Get it?? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23962475 Christopher Stevens LIVED IN TRIPOLI, no matter how much you say that "Benghazi was friendlier". Here is the PROOF: [link to edition.cnn.com] Read the caption of the picture: "Ambassador Christopher Stevens, smiles in this file photo taken at his Tripoli, Libya, home in June" His home was in Tripoli. He lived in Tripoli. PERIOD.
