Re: How the afterlife really works
Some excerpts from the book:

"Dr. N: Do you know of anyone who didn't want to be reborn again on Earth for any
reason?
S: Yes, my friend Mark. He said he had nothing to contribute anymore. He was sick
of life on Earth and didn't want to go back.
Dr. N: Had he lived many lives?
S: No, not really. But he wasn't adjusting well in them.
Dr. N: What did the teachers do with him? Was he allowed to stay in the spirit
world?
S: (reflectively) We choose to be reborn when it is decided we are ready. They don't
force you to do anything. Mark was shown he did benefit others around him.
Dr. N: What happened to Mark?
S: After some more ... indoctrination ... Mark realized he had been wrong about his
abilities and finally he went back to Earth.
Dr. N: Indoctrination! This makes me think of coercion."

"Dr. N: In the Ring, can you look at life on planets besides Earth?
S: I can't because I'm programmed for tracking time on Earth."

"S: It is cylindrical-very bright-it is above and all around us. The cone is small at the
top and wide at the bottom, so it fits over all of us-like getting under a great white
cap-we can float under the cone in order to use it.
S: The top funnels energy down as a waterfall in a spreading circle around all of us
and allows us to really concentrate on our mental sameness as a group.
Dr. N: And what do you feel when you are under the cone?
S: We can feel all our thoughts being expanded ... then drawn up ... and returned
back ... with more knowledge added.
Dr. N: Does this intelligent energy help your unity as a group in terms of more
focused thinking?
S: Yes, it does.
Dr. N: (deliberately confrontational) To be frank with you, Allum, I wonder if this
cone is brainwashing your original thoughts? After all, the arguments and
disagreements between you and the others of your group are what make you
individuals.
Dr. N: Who operates the cone?
S: Those who watch over us."

"Dr. N: Explain to me how this pulling process works which will take you to your
destination?
S: I am riding on a wave ... a beam of light.
Dr. N: Is this beam electromagnetic, or what?
S: Well ... it's similar to the bands of a radio with someone turning the dial and
finding the right frequency for me.
Dr. N: Are you saying you are being guided by an invisible force without much
voluntary control and that you can't speed things up as you did right after death?
S: Yes. I must go with the wave bands of light ... the waves have direction and I'm
flowing with it. It's easy. They do it all for you.

Dr. N: Who does it for you?
S: The ones in control ... I don't really know.

Dr. N: Then you are not in control. You don't have the responsibility of finding your
own destination."

"There are always the same six Elders in front of me who wear long white robes. Their faces are
kindly, and they evaluate my perceptions of the life I have just lived and how I could have done better with my talents and what I did that was beneficial."

Wow -- talk about selective quoting! You just took things completely out of context from the book... e.g., when the guy talks about the cone and the therapist says it sounds to him like brainwashing, the guy gets really upset and says, now I feel offended, it's not like that at all; nothing is being done against someone's free will, etc.
 Quoting: sylvie

My overall impression after reading his books was that it is very coercive. That's when I started saying 'just say no to reincarnation' and 'hell no I won't go (back)!'. Being firm about it should free you from their control. The afterlife has many religions and beliefs in the lower planes where people of similar beliefs stay together and reinforce each other' s wrong ideas until they finally figure out they are stalled and are motivated to desire and find something more.

But every soul has a say in what kind of life it will experience, who its parents are going to be, what the major milestones, challenges and lessons are going to be.

So, there are souls that choose to live with child abusers in poverty? What would that lesson be?

Or who chose to be raped and murdered? Or born an untouchable? I just don't see the logic.

So, how long of a 'wait' between lives for the dead. ?

my guess: 50 to 10,000 years [depending on your karma]

why the need to return so often ...??

to experience the yin / yang of the seven deadlies in both sexes, from all perspectives, participant ,victim , witness, reader, in all positions, leader, follower , slave.

Re: How the afterlife really works
I've heard so many people say the same thing; or alternatively, "I didn't choose to come here."

Oh, but you did -- and you will again. Newton's clients said that there's no apprehension from souls about their next life; on the contrary, they all look forward to it because it's their means of evolving, and because it's all a big, fun adventure.

The gist of it is that our mission here on Earth to overcome fear and its outgrowths, i.e., hatred and anger, as well as develop our capacity for love and compassion, show courage, gain knowledge about ourselves, seize opportunities that offer themselves to us and go with the flow. Stagnation = bad. Change = good.
 Quoting: sylvie

You can't tell me I chose to come here. You or no one else knows for sure.

Totally disagree with the book. Human spirits are from the uncreated realm of God and don't belong in the created realm.

That's what I believe.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23941067

You may differ whether or not human spirits belong here... but the fact is we ARE here, and that's what counts.

Complete BS. There's no rules folks. Reality is and will always be in the mind and it's whatever your beliefs about it are.

Reincarnation. Hmmm..... What's the point of loving anything if your just separated at death from your loved ones, brain erased and put back in another flesh and bone suit?

Stupid concept.

It's karma at work, they also call it the law of cause and effect. Of course at our level, on earth, it's difficult to understand how all this operates.

yes the Newton books say the law of cause and effect means you get sent back to another human body to take it over and live a physical life again to learn the lessons. But how it really works is that your afterlife is where you learn the results of your actions and make amends to the actual ons you've harmed if you haven't already learned that/done that before dying. as another person but as you. You can make amends in this life or in the afterlife.
The reincarnation belief is in error, however you can get stuck in that belief system in the afterlife. At that point Just say No.

Re: How the afterlife really works
Interesting thread OP. I read Aura's and see energy, chakras and the like, and I agree with most of what you have presented, based on what I have seen as causative factors in the lives people create. We are one, and here to experience something other than Self. Enjoy the ride.

Their are many aspects to the process of incarnating and while what hypnotized people say they experienced my be true, the reality may be something all together different. They see what is presented to them, and until there is enough soul experience to not give up seniority to any being any time, any place we will continue to reincarnate on this plane. Once it is understood that no one can take from you your collective memories unless you allow it, you will continue to reincarnate absent your past life memories. Its really not about learning lessons but about taking personal responsibility for what you create and learning that you are senior in your space. sk

Their are rules, one is call cause and effect, for every action their is a reaction, your reap what you sow, Karma and dharma. As much as some would like to which this law doesn't exist, I can assure you it does. But aside from that there is no one that is going to judge you at the end of this life. For by your actions and thoughts you judge yourself. But there is a way to transmute the law of karma. Its called forgiveness. Forgiveness of self and others. Easily said but much harder to accomplish as real forgiveness only comes from understanding and taking responsibility for your part in the dance of life with others. Once you realize there are no victims and that we attract people and circumstances to us based on our belief systems, every thing in life becomes and opportunity to look inward and heal yourself. The only time we can't forgive others is when we can't forgive ourselves for our part in the creation in relation to the other person. sk

Re: How the afterlife really works
To understand how karma operates is key.

Most of our karma is not based on what we did or didn't do, but on decisions we make about ourselves whether true or not.

Hence if a child grows up and makes the decision he is not good enough do to the lack of him living up to his parents expectations, he will later in life create experiences to support that belief.

Until an understanding if reached by the individual of this process, he caries the predisposition into each successive lives. Look at it as one day in your life is like a life time. What you failed to resolve yesterday following you into the next day, the same deep rooted feeling you felt about yourself are they when you wake up in the morning and you creation that day will serve to reinforce those feeling and decisions. Its called the wheel of karma, only when one awakens to the fact that what we create in our live is a direct reflection of our inner most feeling about our self and life can we begin change the underlying structure which is basically built on lies. sk

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3243979

If you are a child abuser, you will choose to come back as an abused child, to learn why you shouldn't abuse children. Karma's a bitch.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7244743

However, children who have been abused often grow up to become child a users themselves. That makes me think reincarnation wouldn't work either.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22688101

That's a very interesting question... vicious cycle, anyone? Newton's clients said that in-between lives, there's always teachings and so on, so maybe they're being taught enough not to fall into that cycle again next time? After all, not EVERY abused child becomes an abuser...
 Quoting: sylvie

not EVERY abused child becomes an abuser...

Exactly!

I don't know about choosing this life. If I did, why the hell would I have chosen for myself to live in hell all the days of my life on this Earth in this life I have lived?

I can't see why I would choose for myself to have been given life through a purely evil mother. A woman who throws kittens down on pavement at the age of 3 years old is evil from the core.

I have lived a life of abuse, in all forms, have never experienced love from someone else, yet, I am not an abuser , but someone who loves deeply and knows how to love unconditionally. Yet, no one loves me and most that I come in contact with abuse me in some fashion. Why the hell would I chose that kind of life??????

Re: How the afterlife really works
Wild butterfly. did you read the rest of my posts. I tried to explain the process of incarnating.

To answer your question, you need to only look to yourself.

For within you based on what you have expressed in a belief, which creates a feeling as is also what you create your life through. Another words based on that subconcious belief you attract situations and people to you. Like your parents, and how people respond to you.

If you want to discover the belief than you must embrace the feeling that over lies the memory in which you made negative decisions about yourself. So you feel used and abused. Really dive into those feelings and memories will begin to rise to the surface. Perhaps ask yourself when is the first time you can remember feeling that way. At some point you will encounter the first time you made or accepted that feeling about yourself. You must see the lie in the memory, because a part of you still believes its true. If you make the feelings your friend they will free you rather than resisting and judging them. They is a part of you that knows they are not true which can cause resistance to feeling the feelings. Peace. If you desire I can send you a long distance healing but I must have your permission, perhaps you can gain from it. peace my friend sk.
