I'm trying to go for 'b' myself. But that's only because I believe in the Ascension idea.
But if no supernatural/divine intervention turns up and separates the wheat from the chaff sooner rather than later, then 'b' is of course incredibly stupid.
Forfeiting the game does not make you a winner.

Forgive and forget, as soon as the brother that hurt you regrets his actions, but no sooner! Be ready to accept unity with him on a moment's notice, and the ball now lies with your brother. makes sense to me.
