Are there any historians in the crowd who can point to a moment in American history when the leadership of this nation actually gave a shit about liberty and freedom following, let's say, the War of 1812? To the best of my lamen's ability to tell, the foreign bankers were suitably entrenched following the Civil War, and that was the end of the "liberty" experiment.
