There ar TWO 26,000 year cycles, The Mayan calendar is not about the precession of the equinoxes
This is for those who are confused on the subject. Some people believe that the Mayan long count has something to do with the precession of the equinoxes, and it doesn't. Just so happens there are two 26,000 year cycles that are converging at the same time frame.

The precession of the equinoxes is the cycle of the ages of the zodiac, and lasts 25,920 years. There are 12 ages in this cycle, of 2160 years each. This cycle begins with the beginning of the age of leo, and we are half way through, sometime at the end of the age of pisces and the beginning of aquarius.

The mayan calendar long count measures the up and down motion of solar system across the plane of the galaxy's ecliptic. According to the mayans, we are at the end of this cycle/beginning of the next, at the center of the plane of the milky way. This cycle lasts 25,625 years(one full up and down trip starting from the center.)

Thoughts?

I personally believe we are going to be entering the age of aquarius on december 21, 2012. This is just a feeling though, the real start of the age is disputed.

I also want to note something interesting.

On december 21, 2012, there will be a transit of venus as seen from saturn. this is fairly commom, but I thought the date was interesting, knowing that saturn co-rules aquarius.

Ineresting coincidences...

You breath an average of 25,920 times a day

The moon is 2160 miles in diameter

2160 squared is the diameter of the sun in miles

The equitorial circumference of the Earth is 21,600 nautical miles

Man you remind me the old interview of Brett Miller, who stated (with a lot of scientifical data) that we were crossing that plane, and tat's why a lot of changes not only on earth but the whole solar system. If this is true we're heading for a lot of rock & roll coming.

You are looking at the wrong hand of the Zodiac. We are entering the Age of Leo, the Leopard, that changes its spots, an Age as tumultuous as the Sun but it's intellectual war. The Leo/Virgo cusp is exactly opposite to the Pisces/Aquarius cusp. Only the idiots who cant think, will wage physical war.

How about Mercury? Venus will be trapped between Mercury and Saturn. Luciferian agenda will be eliminated.

The earth last crossed the "galactic plane" 3 million years ago and will next cross in about 30 million years. Unfortunately it is a 33 million year cycle to cross the galactic plane, we are actually heading away and have been for 3 million years.
