I just hope I see all this crap disproved before I die. |

Laser satellites to broadcast wide spectrum lasers at the oceans surface to image submarines. There will be no place to hide for a sub once this is weaponized. This is truly star wars technology. Quoting: Top Hat They already have it, I know.... I worked on it.... |

What a Ride!" We do not Die, We Awaken to the Dream that We Lived. |

It's a clever algorithm of exposures done over and over and over with the light comming on and off over and over and over. After compiling the exposures they make what seems like a trillion frame per second exposure. It is ground breaking - to a degree. We can't implement this except in a very very controlled environment so good luck trying to observe other facets of light in the universe with this. Yeah it takes weeks for Happy Snaps to return my holiday photos. |

We are not the voice in our body, nor our head. We are the the here and now, experiencing without any input from either of the mentioned above. - It's not about others forgiving you, but whether you can forgive yourself. - It doesn't take much energy to make the wrong decision. But to make the right one, you have to put every fiber of your being to it. - I know i have a lot to work on. But knowing that there's no hairy ass man in the clouds to judge me when I have little bit of fun on the expense of someone elses ignorance, makes life a whole lot easier. |

| gus User ID: 8615131 09/19/2012 06:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | you cannot "watch" light itself. What a ridiculous thread title. What they are filming in slow-mo is not light itself, but the effects of light exposure on a viscous material. The only thing this video is showing in slow motion is the spreading effect of a beam of light across a viscous medium (tap water). You are not seeing a 'bullet' of light 'traveling' in there, you are seeing a beam of light lighting up the interior of a water bottle during the fast flick of the switch of some laser equipment between ON and OFF. There is a delay produced by the mechanical properties of the light source apparatus that creates the effect; it is not that light itself is 'moving'. The effect I'm talking about is no diferent than watching a potent laser beam drilling thru a thick metal plate. Is the laser light moving in slow motion? No, it's just meeting resistance to flow through the material. The tip of the beam is obviously brighter, because it's burning up the particles of the substrate, and so it appears to us that there is a 'bullet' going from point A to B, when in fact there is only a beam extending from A to B at different levels of exposure. and that laser picture is a fucking JOKE. for all practical effects the speed of light is infinite. We cannot see light itself. We can only see the results of light striking an object. more 'pop' science stupidity for the gullible |
