"The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title." Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. The woman who is not pursued sets up the doctrine that pursuit is offensive to her sex, and wants to make it a felony. No genuinely attractive woman has any such desire. - H.L. Mencken, In Defense Of Women |

As a member of the national intellectual elite, I'll get to hide in one of the vast underground caves prepared for the select elite. I haven't been told if I can take my wife with me, though. Having to leave her behind would be a tragedy, but I'll survive. Survival is, after all, the ultimate ideology. |

Driving then high into the Atlas Mountains to live amongst the gentle Berber people who inhabit that region. I've taken that ferry but in the opposite direction -- Tangier, Morocco to Algeciras, Spain. Fantastic voyage, especially as you consider all the ancient civilizations who've plied those waters in distance ages. It's hard to beat the Mediterranean Basin for its history -- the blending of diverse cultures throughout the millennia, its religions, languages, military engagements, great leaders, world-changing events, etc. Apollo astronauts couldn't have passed through Van Allen's Belt. Plenty of room to grow your own food. No worries about ice/snow/frost/etc. Life here has changed little, mostly farming and fishing with the inevitable tourism of course, but that just adds colour! I'm living in a city that has been bombed before, as it's a strategicly interesting target (Rotterdam). I would like to be able to pack up & leave with my caravan when things are hotting up, but where will we go? Was thinking to leave for Sweden, and set up camp near one of the many lakes - anything on the main land might be pretty dangerous. Scandinavia gets pretty cold in the winter, but our caravan has a heater and we'll bring plenty of gas. Quoting: Yddap What do you think? Where will you go? I think the Dutch will sue the Muslims for peace and not be reduced to ash. You will most likely convert to Islam and assist in the invasion of Britain. So you can relax the Caliphate spares you. And this is what happens when you mess with Celts : Quoting: BuRn i thought you are francks. we are - most of mainland europe are descendants of the franks. a small minority in bretagne in france, and parts of the united kingdom, scotland and ireland, are celtic... This is only partly true, becauze those who you say are descendants of the Franks are also descendants of the Gauls (who were Celts), here in western Europe. Franks were a germanic tribe that conquered Roman Gaul. The term Celt was not used before the 18th century. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 18243992 Portugal 12/28/2012 08:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As far as I can imagine there will be lot's of resistance but europeans are just some "take it easy" populace now. How many of us keep watching shit happens every days and think or comment that "this would never happen 20/40 years ago". Why? Because men were Men back then, not just some mentally fucked up metrosexuals trying to get their cents in the end of the month and some pussy (or dick) every now and then. Personally I have lots of plans and thoughts about that I'd do in such situation. Even got some routes layed out, but all that goes rotten the minute you got babies to care for. A small human being, specially one that represents the most precious thing for you, can't really survive the trip or in every one of those absolutely ridiculous ideas of moving to the siberian mountains. Or you can't remain incognito when needed if a yound child starts to bark in the silence. Also, If something _serious_ was to happen you would just pick your vehicle up and ride towards some of the most wild places of Earth. C'mon, really? Let's get real for once. In reality most of us who try to prepare, even if mentally, would try to route to the nearest considerable local mountain but even there most of aren't really prepped to survive there in the winter, on in the Iberian Peninsula, these mountains doesn't have any game to hunt for do they? It's really though to make some plans for this. Eventually some serious events are about to take place in the upcoming decade, which gives us some time. Most cans of food have a validation of 4/5 years tops, you can start storing and periodically rotate the stocked food, but that means that you're jailed in your own house when guess what...TSHTF. I would like to get acquainted to some real preppers, even if from western Europe, locally Portugal isn't the ideal place for this nor I have the inclination to meet with some simple doom tards/fanaticals. There doesn't seem to exist some reasonable inteligent people anymore, just some bitched trying to attend the next Justin Bieber concert. Is there some mid term with these cunts and the freaking rednecks from the states? Have lot's of thoughts, don't know if I'm gonna put them to practice in my lifetime or not, but it can't be bad to be the least prepared. Better this than nothing right? |
