I absolutely agree with what you said about our rulers
Sadly we are ruled by a bunch of bloody ruthless tyrants
and we failed in the 2011 Arab spring revolutions to get red of all of them
Islam is more than 1300 years old civilization
but we wasn't ruled by those tyrants all the time
Not all the time..but only the last 100 years.
and most of them was secular rulers not Islamic
and if you read history you would find it true
and yes right now western civilization have more freedom than us. and I'm ashamed to call my self a real Muslim
but western civilization is flying on one wing which is the secular wing.
the right way to fly is by both wings secular and religious

So be steadfast and seek Allah's Nearness. Give good news and seek help at morn and at dusk and some part of a dark night." (Bukhari) and in Quran: "O you who believe! Make not unlawful the good things which Allah has made lawful for you, but Commit no excess: for Allah loves not those given to excess." (S.5: 87) "And swell not your cheek (for pride) at men, nor walk in insolence through the earth; for Allah loves not the arrogant boaster. And be moderate in your pace, and lower your voice; for the harshest of sounds without doubt is the braying of the ass." (S31: 18-19) The new Egyptian leader doesn't look very promising so far. I think he could turn out to be a tyrant. And I'd like to know more about his ideas on the proper treatment of women. Yeah I began to notice that too lately..but I hope I'm wrong.
