Anonymous Coward User ID: 3199789 Canada 09/19/2012 11:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OH spread the FEAR!!! There has always been arsenic in rice!! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24087587 Its natural and found everywhere in nature... Except this is inorganic arsenic and at high doses due to poor farming and industrial practices and it could kill you. But hey if you think that's natural well yes...dying after eating poison is natural. They just dont want to tell you the truth, like usual!! Its Radiation!!! Arsenic is the cover!! I'm sure there's some radioactivity in the rice too, I heard it took about 15 years for it to fall to background levels in most European food after Chernobyl. But those are separate issues. |

They have shat on the world for their riches, and sit upon their throwns in defensive arrogance. They'll lie cheat and steal before they ever THINK about doing the right thing. |

That would be nothing but rice floating around in water. You can't cook rice like that, unless you want rice soup. The ratio to make rice, (white) is 1 cup of rice to 1 cup of water. Blech. Why all of a sudden now is rice bad? Has it always been this way? Or is this something new that just happened to rice? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 21615903 United States 09/20/2012 12:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | White rice grown in Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, and Texas generally had higher levels of total arsenic and inorganic arsenic than rice samples from elsewhere (India, Thailand and California combined). Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3738979 [link to www.marketwatch.com] 5 Stars! Thank you for posting this. One would think that it would be the other way around and foreign grown rice would contain more arsenic. After reading this article and putting 2 + 2 together it can be figured out that this is because the places with the highest arsenic levels in the rice also have the highest amount of ranching and other types of animal production industries. The manure is being reused to grow the rice and is how the arsenic is getting into the rice. India and Thailand are predominately vegetarian countries and they eat very little meat. They don't have the high cancer and heart attack rates we do over here because they're not consuming animal flesh. Watch the documentary titled Foods That Kill. It's from 1993 and not a very high quality production but the doctor making the presentation is absolutely spot on and makes the best case for going vegetarian or vegan that I have ever seen made. Since watching it I have scaled down my meat consumption drastically. Rice is a big part of my diet. I need to be more careful. Thanks again for the heads up! |

Well, when TSHTF, you'll either starve to death or die from cancer. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3738979 [link to www.chicagotribune.com] The FDA's analysis showed average levels of 3.5 to 6.7 micrograms of inorganic arsenic per serving, while Consumer Reports found levels up to 8.7 micrograms. The FDA released 200 samples, while Consumer Reports tested 223. [link to www.foxnews.com] And for a bonus on arsenic: US poultry industry has a disturbing habit of feeding arsenic to chickens. Arsenic, it turns out, helps control a common bug that infects chicken meat, and also gives chicken flesh a pink hue, which the industry thinks consumers want. [link to www.motherjones.com] And this surprises you? Thought it was common sense that it would also be tainted by TPTB.I bought rice and other food to keep from starving to death when SHTF.I'm going to eventually die..most likely from a bullet to the head or guillotine blade for not going along with the NWO.But it's far better way to die than the agonizing process of starvation or dehydrating. No ones gonna live long enough to die from cancer once all hell breaks loose. |

Was just discussing with hubby to turn the rice troph into a container to grow melons or gourds now to keep mosquitoes out of the wet rice bed. Decisions decisions.... Grow wet rice and keep the mosquito threat that come with it or eat arsenic laden store bought rice. Fu*k! |

Grow wet rice and keep the mosquito threat that come with it or eat arsenic laden store bought rice. Fu*k! Can you put a good quality mosquito netting over your troth, or bring it indoors? Your homegrown rice would be the healthiest rice by far, but West Nile is no joke either. If you have to buy US rice, at least buy from California, because around your area seems to be particularly high in arsenic. But for other stuff, more local would probably be better, since Texas got less Fuku'd than Cali. |

Chrit User ID: 15366081 United States 09/20/2012 05:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Snip: It is almost impossible to say how dangerous these levels are without a benchmark from the federal government. Consumer Reports uses New Jersey's drinking water standard - a maximum of 5 micrograms in a liter of water - as comparison because it is one of the strictest in the country. But it is unclear how accurate it is to compare arsenic levels in water and arsenic levels in rice - most people consume more water than rice, so drinking water standards may need to be tougher. [link to www.foxnews.com] This is timely propaganda. We have known for over 30 years that the average grain of rice grown in the U.S. runs at 260 parts per billion. But in China their rice contains less than 150 PPB. They are going to force us to stop growing rice and import it, follow the money on this story. At the same time they will demand we remove ALL the arsenic form water and that will not be cheap so they can further raise rates and hurt the farmers. Currently water has to have less than 10 PPB or 5 PBB if it is bottled water. Again they are trying to kill an industry and export it to china. Next they will demand people close their wells and get municipal drinking water because 20% of wells in the country are over the 10PPB limit. I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw. We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three. |
