Any brilliant theories as to who the Bride of Christ is OTHER than the church?
You guys are smart. Just think outside the box for a bit.

Lots of concepts in the Bible have duel meanings so what if the wife of the lamb is something else ALONG with also being the consortium of believers. Or maybe people take Paul's allegories to Christ loving his church too literally and the church is just his body and NOT his wife.

Anyway who could this wife of the lamb/Bride of Christ be if we stretch our minds? The most direct reference to who it is, is The New Jerusalem. That is confusing.

The whole scrap of parchment referring to Jesus' wife got me thinking about this because everyone is assuming it must be referring to a wife he had in the past when I believe it can easily be a wife he WILL have.

Also it refers to us being the guests at the wedding so it seems to me that someone else other than us is the Bride.

Random Ideas that pop into my mind:
-The Holy Spirit in either God form or human form
-Just a random chick God picks who will be the Queen of Heaven referred to in Psalms
-Someone who has earned it somehow in their life... maybe like in The Lord of The Rings they have carried evil with them their whole life to help others. Demons channel to them somehow...
-Earth
-A fraction of some believers
-A reincarnation of Eve (since Jesus is the last Adam)
-The woman crowned with the moon and 12 stars in Revelation

I don't know why this topic fascinates me. I like the idea of the Bible being an epic love story and Jesus getting some HUGE reward for becoming a human for eternity.

Well, I have posted this before, but upon you request I will post it again. Christians call Jesus Son of God but in The Quran God stresses that Jesus was human. There is ample evidence that the texts of the Gospels have been changed and that the role of Mary Magdalene has been altered. Jesus was a reincarnation of Adam while Mary Magdalene was a reincarnation of Eve. In the original creation story Eve was not made out of the rib of Adam but Eve gave birth to Adam. This is the reason why Eve is called Mother of All the Living. For 6,000 years God has hidden Her identity.

The following evidence is in the scriptures:
- Christians are considered to be children of God and born of God (John 1:12-13) so God was a Mother before the text was altered.
- Adam is referred to as son of God (Luke 3:38), Jesus as firstborn over all creation (Col. 1:15) so Adam was born and Jesus was a reincarnation of Adam.
- Jesus was with God in the beginning (John 1:2) but there is no mentioning of Jesus in the Tanakh.
- After having created the humans on the sixth day in Genesis 1, God appears to have started over again by creating Adam and Eve in Genesis 2. This indicates that the text has been changed.
- Adam calling his wife Eve because She would become mother of all the living also suggests tampering.
- The Quran mentions the creation of Adam extensively but does not mention the creation of Eve, which may indicate that Eve was never created.

Sure, the bride is those with the Law (God the Father) and the testimony (God the Son).

The bride will be taken to a place of safety after the Isaiah 24 earthquake, those who don't have the Law and Testimony will have to go through the tribulation. You need both!

God Bless!

I will share my humble view OP.

Adam was never in the transgression. It was/is Eve who transgressed. The law states that the penatly for such an act of trangrssion is death.

But Adam in his great love for Eve, stood in the breach. He paid the penalty for his love and, in doing so, freed her from the penalty and bondage of death.

But there is no law of death for one who has commited no transgression. So the law of death was destroyed. The power of the one who reigned over death was also destroyed.

The keys now belong to the one who destroyed death. The Christ now has been given the power over death and gives life to whomever he wishes.

Those who are Eve (in Spirit). Who are unioned to the Last Adam (in Spirit) are freed from the penatly of death imposed.

I think it's me. My husband looks exactly like the old icon's of Jesus. I'm also convinced he's Jesus incarnate because he's never read the bible and does everything it says (it's written in his heart). My mother in law's name is Lene (short for Magdalene) and my name is Mary and I used to be a ho. We also have some sort of power, everything we do has an effect on the world, kinda like the world evolves around us so I think that means we are ruling. We are total nonconformists and keep to ourselves. This isn't something I would ever want to be known for. I also had some light gush into me the other day by some wind force. But I don't feel any different.
I want to sit on my bottom and read GLP!

Thanks so much for your contribution. I have thought you are right in that Adam stepped out of paradise for his love for Eve and was allowed to maybe "reincarnate" as Jesus to then save the rest of mankind. Adam did give his authority over Earth to Satan when he chose Eve, but then Jesus took it back for us. I am really not too clear how Jesus and Adam are exactly related but it does say that Jesus is the last Adam. Some people think a lot of Biblical characters were the Christ spirit being sent to Earth to learn (like Joseph). Not sure about that one.

I do believe that the church is the name given to the bride of Christ. Scripture tells us as much, though it is called a mystery.

I do not purport to see the mystery clearly or even fully. I can only share what I feel when I read scripture and pray and meditate over the church and, as John says, "what was from the beginning".

It is as Paul says; looking thought a dark, shadowy glass.

I am certain we will all see clearly in the fullness of time and know fully. Even as we are known by Him.

I give thanks for the one who has paid the ultimate price. For his great love and great gift of life eternal.

God bless OP.

- The Quran mentions the creation of Adam extensively but does not mention the creation of Eve, which may indicate that Eve was never created.

why don't you start small, and work your way up and outward

the word "rib" in your biblical translations is not accurate for that which it was "chosen" to represent thusly, if you take it back to the prime of it's source you may find that...

it means "curve"

clear?

as in the helix curve and/or DNA

it was the feminine DNA taken from the male entity that was utilized to fashion the Eve, for the sole purpose that procreation was designed to be the force behind that which would then allow all of you to be brought forth INTO FLESH

you were not originally created IN FLESH, quite the contrary in fact

until the rebellion you did dwell upon your earth, tho not in corruptible form of flesh

food for thought... THINK

and do your research instead of asking others who haven't bothered either, maybe just maybe that will help

the reason behind Eve being referenced as "mother of all living" thusly

is due to the fact, and only due to the fact, that it holds true that she was the physical vessel through which the Adamic bloodline was continued forth and through which Christ, your salvation, didst come forth

"if you aren't living in Christ then you aren't living in truth, and/or in the truest sense of the word"

period

has nothing to do with all races being brought forth from two individuals of the same race, color, likeness

the creation story in the biblical text isn't complete, the original manuscripts must be included and studied as well.

why?

humankind did the translating and we as flesh are subject to our shortcomings, such is the burden of flesh in part

"and it grieved the Father to have made man suffer flesh"

that includes females by the way, just in case you are turning to head off in that untoward direction
