Re: Any brilliant theories as to who the Bride of Christ is OTHER than the church?

the word "rib" in your biblical translations is not accurate for that which it was "chosen" to represent thusly, if you take it back to the prime of it's source you may find that...

it means "curve"

clear?

as in the helix curve and/or DNA

you were not originally created IN FLESH, quite the contrary in fact

corruptible form of flesh

 Quoting: niphtrique

I think you've "researched" your way out of the scripture as in adding to it your own ideas...something that we all could be a little guilty of maybe.

Anyway, just because rib means "curve" doesn't prove that it's not the rib. Ribs are curved...learned that from handling them in anatomy.

Also, the text doesn't say we were created as spirit beings without bodies. On the contrary, Adam's body was created out of the dust of the ground and God literally breathed into his physical nostrils the breath of lives - making man a living spiritual soul with a body.

Oh, and God said it was VERY GOOD... that includes the body made of flesh.

Re: Any brilliant theories as to who the Bride of Christ is OTHER than the church?
the reason behind Eve being referenced as "mother of all living" thusly is due to the fact, and only due to the fact, that it holds true that she was the physical vessel through which the Adamic bloodline was continued forth and through which Christ, your salvation, didst come forth

"if you aren't living in Christ then you aren't living in truth, and/or in the truest sense of the word"

period

has nothing to do with all races being brought forth from two individuals of the same race, color, likeness

the creation story in the biblical text isn't complete, the original manuscripts must be included and studied as well.

why?

humankind did the translating and we as flesh are subject to our shortcomings, such is the burden of flesh in part

"and it grieved the Father to have made man suffer flesh"

that includes females by the way, just in case you are turning to head off in that untoward direction

Remarkable coincidence, isn't it. God likes this kind of humour. You believe in a Father who can give birth (John 1:12-13).

Most Christians ignore the falsifications of the texts so they do not have to think about the reasons why those frauds have been committed. For instance, the last chapter of the gospel of John has been added later to suggest that the Beloved Disciple was John as the previous chapter already has closing lines (John 20:30-31). There also is no good explanation for the fact that God starts over again with Creation in Genesis 2, unless you believe me.

If Jesus returns he will have a difficult time convincing people. I have written it down, and it seems obvious to me, but still nobody believes me. You can bring a horse to the water, but you cannot make it drink. People who think that Jesus is coming to save them from their own stupidity may be in for a nasty surprise. For 20 centuries people have waited in vain. God does not care for you and this universe is only entertainment for Her. The Kingdom of Heaven will be a wedding party but I think Jesus will not have any appetite for The Church.

The lower mind prior to the union with spirit. The body is the church. sk

This is expressed in revelations also when read in the proper light. sk

The lower mind/ego can also express as the anti-christ, when resist or denies, christ (indwelling spirit) as the head of the church/temple (body) sk

You guys are smart. Just think outside the box for a bit.

Lots of concepts in the Bible have duel meanings so what if the wife of the lamb is something else ALONG with also being the consortium of believers. Or maybe people take Paul's allegories to Christ loving his church too literally and the church is just his body and NOT his wife.

Anyway who could this wife of the lamb/Bride of Christ be if we stretch our minds? The most direct reference to who it is, is The New Jerusalem. That is confusing.

The whole scrap of parchment referring to Jesus' wife got me thinking about this because everyone is assuming it must be referring to a wife he had in the past when I believe it can easily be a wife he WILL have.

Also it refers to us being the guests at the wedding so it seems to me that someone else other than us is the Bride.

Random Ideas that pop into my mind:
-The Holy Spirit in either God form or human form
-Just a random chick God picks who will be the Queen of Heaven referred to in Psalms
-Someone who has earned it somehow in their life... maybe like in The Lord of The Rings they have carried evil with them their whole life to help others. Demons channel to them somehow...
-Earth
-A fraction of some believers
-A reincarnation of Eve (since Jesus is the last Adam)
-The woman crowned with the moon and 12 stars in Revelation

I don't know why this topic fascinates me. I like the idea of the Bible being an epic love story and Jesus getting some HUGE reward for becoming a human for eternity.

I read a book on this topic back in the early 1970s. It's still available, if you look for it, likely out of print, but there are still copies floating around. It's The Jesus Scroll by Donovan Joyce. Listed as nonfiction, the author says that he can't prove what he says, but that he was told that a scroll he'd seen and been asked to help smuggle out of Israel had been discovered at Masada. The story goes that the scroll had been written the night before the Romans took Masada and that writer of said scroll had been an 80 year old man called 'Yeshua ben Ya'akob been Gennesareth' and indicated that he was the rightful inheritor of the Hasmonean (Maccabean) Kings of Israel.

The book goes on to detail the research of the author who had been stunned by what he'd gone on to learn. He is open about the fact that he did NOT read the scroll, had only been seen it and told the name of the author, but that was sufficient to send him reeling. His research indicated that Jesus' wife was Mary Magdalene. There is much more, too much to recount here, but well worth the read. He lists who he thinks was Jesus' natural father, as well as how and why the Church did what it did in creating what has come down to us in the New Testament Bible. Reading it would also give insight as to just how volatile this information, if true, would be. Earthshaking stuff.

The book is not a heavy, boring tome, but easy to read. If you want to read it, there are about a dozen copies available at Amazon. I still have mine, a rather worn copy that I bought back around 1974 or so. It intrigued me then, and intrigues me now.

She is the one who will give birth to the second coming of Christ. She is not randomly selected. She was probably also Mother Mary in another incarnation, last time He came.

That is good.
Follow your signs.
Find the truth in the heart, the one beyond words.

Re: Any brilliant theories as to who the Bride of Christ is OTHER than the church?
If you look at the scripture closely Rev chapter 12 says.....A woman adorned as the bride for THE Christ...NOT Jesus Christ.....In a marriage you have a bride a groom and an officiate.God being the officiate,A woman to be the bride and a man to be the groom...In the old testament it talks about 2 witnesses, again in Revelations it mentions 2 prophets who witness.I think we are confusing these 2 people with being the Bride of Christ(JESUS)..The words...JESUS CHRIST mean..The Lord's Anointed...s Jesus was born Emanuel,we called him Jesus(LORD) Christ(anointed).Jesus Christ is a description not a proper name.If you noticed the bible says not to ADD to or Take away from the writings....God said...AS IT IS WRITTEN...therefore no interpretation is needed.Expect 2 people who were called of God...that's obvious because they were told in prophecy when the bible was written.Do as God commanded...AS IT IS WRITTEN and you will have your answer.

Re: Any brilliant theories as to who the Bride of Christ is OTHER than the church?
You are exactly right. Eve is the woman of revelation 12. She has been reincarnated . She is also the queen of the South!!! The bible is a epic love story. GOD has shown me this in visions. Remember this name, if he doesn't give a false last name, the name of Nixon, he is the antichrist. The antichrist is already here and waiting on this birth. The child is the reincarnation of David!!!!! The antichrist goes by his middle name but his given first and last name adds up to 666. Believe if you want or ignore I k know the truth and that's all I need.
