I love how people frame this as if they have no choice, if no one pays, they will lose all power in the blink of an eye.

I was going to write what goes down in Mass. (under Romneys care plan) but I will just write this.

Many will go without healthcare with this being mandatory.

Many do now and just pay the tax. It would be about $2000 per person or couple. If people are paying the $2000-$4000 per couple per year what you get is far from worth it.

Once you go Obama style they have access to your records, doctors and decisions to your death. So everytime you go in for an appt. it all will be added up to see if you are a loss to them. Once you are (under their thinkings) you will not receive any care. I know someone who was told they were cut off, under the age of retirement (just there too) and is now planning his death. So if you know that if you go and it written down everytime you will not go many times. It works against itself.

If you have under 10 employees you do not have to pay I do believe; you do not have to provide them with it but MUST do alot of paperwork to prove that, once again the govt checking you out and you must prove it. People will be losing their jobs once again and continue to for years due to this.

Approximate cost in Mass. small biz = $1000 per month for a couple. $5000 deductibles on some plans and you must also pay a % of any other check ups that are not yearly basic ones and a % of prescriptions. On top of that add that many many doctors make mistakes, this is a learning state and they mess up!!! Each time they do you pay and pay. They mess up alot and you may end up at the ER or paying for many more appts that are not included in your plan.

I do say this, this plan and Obamas plan is not right and that is why sometimes I speak up. It was not written or planned for correctly, especially not being fair to soooo many yet many get it free if you work for them, plus all the illegal immigrants and the Muslims who use it but are exempt.

If you plan on not offering coverage You don't need to fire the employees. You only need to make them "part time" employees. You will be allowed a statutorily defined "30 employee reduction" when the penalty tax assessment is figured. SHould you have 30 or fewer full-time employees after the reduction you will NOT have a tax penalty. If you plan on maintaining coverage you will need to get your full-time equivalent employee census under 50 to avoid the tax OR make sure your employer contribution is at least 60% OR the employees contribution for coverage does not exceed 9.5% of his/her gross pay.

This is so frustrating. Obama care is a nightmare waiting to happen. It is basically over. I am not saying Obama will get re-elected. In fact it looks as though Romney will win right now but it is scary that Americans let it get this far.

He cut Medicare in order to put this into place. A plane that will cost everyone a whole lot more money than they have. Obama has screwed everyone over here. What were people thinking? Why did the Demonrats put this man up for nomination? THere were plenty of other options. Too white and too male I guess. No one wanted to run against Hillary Clinton.

This is a nightmare and if Obama wins it will be endless unemployment and government attempts at coverage that will never happen.

I suppose even if this is fixed by Romney, who said he would repeal it, it will come about again due to an ever increasing non-white and socialist leaning population. The liberals knew it would happen that is why they did it.

We are totally screwed under obamacare. My husband is 60, and lost his job almost 2 years ago. His COBRA ended months ago. He can get early Social Security at 62, but Medicare doesn't start until he is 65. So, in the meantime, even though he has no income, he will have to pay a penalty and possibly got to jail because he doesn't have the money to pay the penalty.
My youngest will be losing her medical coverage when she turns 19, a year and a half from now. She will also have to pay a penalty or go to jail, because she cannot afford insurance on her own. She is a full time college student, and works part time at a small business with less than a dozen employees. Right now I am paying for her insurance, but the policy ends when she is 19.
As for me, I am already getting SS and Medicare, but my premium for Medicare takes 1/6 of my check. With the rise in premiums projected for 2014, the premiums will literally take 1/2 of my SS check.

But they had 348 employees and were generously picking up a great deal of the cost of our health care, which was Excellus BC/BS. They sent out an employee memo telling us that due to increases - that are due to the "new health law" they would no longer be able to cover the cost of our health insurance. This is a company in New York with branches in 3 states. Anyway, no way we were going to be able to afford it ourselves - we all knew we would be pushed into the gov't system. It's a foregone conclusion.

I will be 59 in March. When I was a kid my father had a relatively low paying job. Healthcare did not exist. I had my tonsils out at 5, the doctors came to the house and cured our ills and everything got paid for and my parents owned a modest house throughout.

Ever since they invented this heath care shit, scam, con game, whatever you want to call it, the system started falling apart. We were not only cared for well, we thrived! These lawyer scumbags, CEO criminals assholes and Big Pharma douche bags have screwed us all and will not stop until we are all dead! It's a scam and a crime, whatever they do and people actually are HAPPY to pay $15,000.00 a year for "coverage" or CHEER for government care.

Sounds like you should be upset at your company heads. They obviously don't value your life and well being enough to offer the health care they are currently offering. They're taking it off the table in favor of paying a small fine.I'd consider quitting.
