I've been kind of cringing this week about the supposed gaffe by Romney. Being worried about the effect it would have, I examined my own feelings. I am really angry about how this is being portrayed in the MSM but I know it would be impossible to get the truth from them.

Facts, plain and simple.... everything he stated is truth! I always hear people talking about how they wish polititians would just tell it like it is.

This IS how it is. It wasn't a lie...

It wasn't an excellent way to gain voters from within those ranks, however, they weren't going to vote for him anyways. He said as much.

Here are some clips from the media that might be a clue to the real state of affairs in our country.

and this... from Pelosi's daughter!!!

this gal has a very intelligent and thoughtful point of view...

my point is, and has always been, that we have created an entire demographic unto itself that is utterly reliant on the government. Now we KNOW they will be voting liberal... but what happens when the people on programs outnumbers the working people?

I'm thinking we may be screwed. It's way easier to let someone take care of you, and these folks will NEVER know the self satisfaction of EARNING a living.

If the Conservatives don't at least try and get the existing regime out of the White House, I shudder to even think about the alternative.

For love of GOD and country....let's make this man a one-term'er.

I'm a republican-leaning citizen not fully one way or the other but definitely truth in OP's words.

why thank you! One thing I forgot to add is that contrary to the liberal slant (btw, I am a convert...I was raised in a good democratic, southern family) I know that all the programs will not come to a screeching grinding halt....they can't and they serve a purpose. The purpose has just been distorted. It was never intended for able bodied to sit at home.

It was a major gaffe and here is why. The Fact is, many of the 53% are Romney voters, and many are Obama voters. Many of the 47%, are Obama voters, and many are Romney voters. Unfortunately for Romney. All the undecided fall into one of these categories. How many of those just decided to vote for Obama out of that 47%? How many of those 47% that supported him, but not strongly, will now just stay home and not vote? This is Romney's 1992, Bush 41 moment. When Bush didnt know the price of a gallon of milk. He is now perceived as an out of touch, elite, plutocrat. With no relation whatsoever to the common family struggling in this economy. Which was always the danger in having Romney as a candidate to begin with.

To a veteran of these things, this one is feeling more and more, like 2004 in reverse. A vulnerable president, against a hand picked candidate(by many D's at the time, myself included), because we thought maybe Kerry could win. We didnt really have any alternative to offer. Nothing other than that we really hated the president and he had to go. Or we were going to move to where ever. Sound familiar?

But I do appreciate your engagement in the political process. Our democracy is what makes us great. But I think you are trying to spin defeat into some rare form of victory.

Your initial cringe reaction was the correct response. Romney will lose because he insulted his own voters 90% of which reside in Republican states.

And as for the rest? 1% of Americans own 75% of Americas wealth. That is the problem that people feel but haven't put their finger on.

Due to Romney's expressing his TRUE feelings in quiet rooms Americans will begin to ask,"What about Romney's Taxes?" "Is HE a 47%er?"

SPIN is the last concern I have. I know the gaffe is huge! I also know it was pure truth. If you don't want to hear it, thats fine. I am all for you having your own point of view.

Here is the most recent GALLUP poll since the Gaffe'.

Romney %46
Obama %47
+/- margin of error %7

seems it hasn't exactly done what they thought.

If Obama was going to do something about the state of affairs in our Country and stop the creation of a Welfare State. I would sit up and take notice. But we both know that won't happen. The job market is low and not getting better when you factor in those who quit even looking.

I've never been optimistic about the chances of the Conservatives this election. I think another four of Obama will be tragic but we here in the states seem determined to only learn from our mistakes. Every other generation has hoped for a "better" world for their kids. I and others like me, wish for one more like the one I grew up in.

But where has the whole 'lesser of two evils' mentality gotten us? Especially when the corporate interest groups and elite families are pulling all of the strings anyway regardless of who is in office. When do we take a step back and realize that this political paradigm does not work and is more or less a facade to give the common man the illusion of control?

I don't view it as being apathetic or 'not caring'. When do we collectively decide to stop being conscious contributors to systems that do not work?

I wish people would stop voting. I wish they would stop feeding the whole Democrat vs Republican paradigm, as well as the Left vs. Right / Liberal vs. Conservative paradigm. These outdated ways of thinking & operating have done nothing but create division among the populace, which has effectively disempowered the collective will of the people to evolve and progress.

I'm of the belief that the more that people collectively withdraw themselves from these outdated paradigms that we've been stuck in, the better. Nothing will change when people continue to subscribe to ideology that does not work. Disassociate your conscious energy with that which does not work, open the door to new ideas and ways of thinking that push us in a new direction.

Nice and idealistic.... however, the system will not be rocked THIS election. As I have stated, by 2016 we will be firmly a welfare state. You will NOT get these people to convert ever because they are at the teat of the Government.

So the only answer would be.....

Where are we going to start this new Country? There isn't another place with just a few indians minding their own business.

Fuck him and the $77,000 tax credit horse he rode in on.

And $200,000 a year is middle class? What an out of touch idiot.

He is a moron.

It saddens me that people are stupid enough to still be swallowing his horse shit when he has not ONE positive thing to add to anything. The only positive thing ANYONE can say about him is "he is not Obama". Such a promising "leader"!

There are lots of people in the 53% who aren't as stupid as you who will NEVER cast a vote for Romney.

Good luck voting for evil you brain dead sheep!

Re: Here's why the 53% are going to vote Obama out ofOffice
There is alot of us near the 45th parallel Pacific Nothwest, that feel that without change in leadership from the current idiot in chief, we will not have our businesses left, employees to hire after January, and food of the table by March.

I've already let most of my bonding companies know that I'm going under in November if the idiot goes two terms.

3/4 of my neighbors haven't seen work in 2 years, there's no lumber Industry except imports from Canada, school unions are demanding more than taxpayers can afford for PERS, gas is over 4.00 a gallon, banks aren't lending money, this place is a ghost town with closed shops everywhere.

.....and the dipshit in chief is out playing golf and letterman Instead of focusing on getting coal and industry restarted.

if you are in the PNW.. you undoubtedly have seen the anti-coal propoganda on every corner. At least here in Oregon. I am a small business owner and my neighbor owns a staffing agency primarily for men in the Mills or equipment operators. She is almost out of business....there are NO jobs. PERIOD...

sad state of affairs and Oregon STILL votes Democrat across the board.

The current coal dust issue is a joke. They claim there will be dust and environmental damage everywhere through all these cities and yet they have no valid proof, just an agenda against jobs for people that need them.

Coal is a HUGE subject of conversation at my house. Hubby is from WV and been in or around coal his entire life. Between natural gas and coal, this country could shun middle east oil entirely.
Fool me once, shame on you.....fool me twice shame on me.
