This simulation seems to suggest the enemy launches, and somehow their missiles arrive before we've launched. In reality, a nuclear exchange between superpowers would likely see all salvos complete before the first wave of missiles strike earth. In a matter of seconds after detecting first launch, a response would be fired, and within 8-12 minutes all missiles, blue and red would have detonated.
