Quoting: 508527 I respectfully disagree. I could likewise say, "Maybe these patrons (pseudo-king for a day) could cook their own meal, wait on themselves hand and foot and bring your food and drink to you as quickly as possible." Not to mention, you pay for food at a grocery store, you pay for service of food at a restaurant. If you don't want to tip, just don't go out to eat. That easy. You m-m-m-muh-make me HAAA-PEEE. | Anonymous Coward User ID: 23855430 09/20/2012 10:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | yeah cuz it's sooooo hard to carry a plate 20 feet. I have stopped eating in restaurants because the idea of tipping just pisses me off. I worked in restaurants in college and needed the tips, but there is just ZERO reason to tip. A robot could do a better job than most servers. |

Quoting: John Everytard nowhere in the article did it state that a single restaurant ever demanded 30% tips Was in South Beach last summer. The restaurants, in addition to the exorbinant prices, add a 30% tip to your bill. If that is not bad enough, there is still a line for additional tip. I always tip 20%, having worked as a waitress to get through college, but a forced 30% is nuts! Glad I cook most of the time. Life is karma and karma always reflects both past and present circumstance. Our time here is short, so choose carefully and behave well, for all of your tomorrows are presently being decided. You sound just like the type of customer that wouldn't tip well to save your life. We could identify you from the get go and often gave "our best" service to prove the theory. | Frater User ID: 1193197 09/20/2012 11:06 AM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 20% is appropriate if they do a good job and it goes down from there and that's a good tip. Most just double the tax and that's a little less. I don't see that changing in the future. It's a GIFT, a thank you, sure they deserve it if they do a good job though. Everyone's pay is going down in relation to purchasing power of the dollar due the federal reserve. Many don't eat out at all anymore. Frater PS I live in NY. LVX! |
