No different from an RSA, it's just built into the CPU and multiplexed over the NIC.

Turn your power strip off and no worries!

"NC-compatible Server embedded directly onto the chip, enabling permanent remote access and control. A RealVNC collaboration with Intel's ground-breaking hardware has produced VNC Viewer Plus, able to connect even if the computer is powered off, or has no functioning operating system"

Cloud computing would be a joke over this!

Nice feature... but my PC is never off anyway.

The privacy issue is really a non issue with regard to this feature. You have to protect your system regardless if it's on or off.

Before you come back with the argument that at least if you are behind your PC you know that you are being hacked and are able to stop the hacker in its tracks... Think again. Most people wouldn't have a clue.

Besides, before people got decent security suits on their systems the same could be done using the Wake on Lan NIC.

every decent piece of server hardware from a major vendor, has had their own brew of remotely accessible management consoles for more then a decade. adding a 3g modem is just a novelty.
