Japan has not had a Military since 1947

while they don't have an official military they have the japan self-defense forces

Also they officially have no nuclear weapons, but with there 50 odd nuclear power plants, surely they have devoloped a couple before fukishima pretty much halted there refinement capabilities.

But yes, I agree Japan gets attacked by anyone, will pretty much draw us in to a war.

Japan has realized since Clinton that relying on the US for security under Socialist Democrats may not be a good idea, and have been steadily building up, and modernizing it's forces. Especially the Air Force, since it's the most bang for the buck.

The Mitsu F-2's outperform the F-18's they were cloned from, and since we wouldn't sell them the F-22 Raptor, they are developing their own version, the Mitsubishi ATD-X. they passed completely on the F-35 JSF...

The Japanese self-defense is pretty much like the Coast Guard. When I lived in Osaka I always drove by their vessels. I did notice that one of them had a mounted gun on the front, but never saw more than two boats. In speaking with the people there they really do not have much faith in them. I would also think that we have some Nukes there at some of our military bases.

We nuked Japan into neutrality and we can do the same with Islam...or just finish them off if they don't have the brains to quit like Japan did...

Just because our ships are painted white and orange does not mean they cannot do some damage. I would think that our Coast Guard is just as capable of Japan's Self Defense Force.

I agree, they used to have a powerful military and are very highly skilled people. They are still kind of sitting ducks in the Pacific on an island the size of California. I am glad they are on our side, they crazy thing is that most of them have forgiven us for what we did to them.

The US will give up Japan for debt forgivness.
