Republicans and Fox News are engaging in treason | |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 18802425 United States 09/20/2012 04:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Republicans obstructing, sabotaging, and blocking economic recovery should be tried and convicted of treason under Article III, Section 3, where it says a subversive act that “weakens the power of the United States,” is treason, and requires two witnesses for conviction. After over three years deliberately weakening the economy, there is little doubt Republicans are guilty of treason and 49% of voters agree they are purposely obstructing recovery. The legal definition of treason is “the betrayal of one's own country by waging war against it,” and by their own admission, Republicans are campaigning on an anti-government platform. In lieu of trying Republicans for treason, the American people have the ability to do the next best thing and vote every obstructionist, anti-government Republican out of office for their three-year campaign to destroy the economy. Bush‘s policies, no matter what they were? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18802425 That's exactly what the democrats did in 2006 until 2008. They then had 2 years of supermajority status and they passed everything that they wanted. (how come they didn't impose higher taxes then if it was so great. huh? they could have.) Sucks when you have to play by the same rul. It's going going to suck even more for the national socialists when President Romney has a supermajority in Congress and the nuclear option is used to pass their bills, just like "Hairy Reed" (sic) used to pass Obamacare and the Nationalist Socialist agency. The Republican Party has every right to oppose the President regarding anything that they feel is destructive to the American way of life, which just happens to be everything Obama does. You do realize that the democrats have not passed a budget in 4 years. The last signed budget was signed by W in 2008 for fiscal year 2009. The deficit on the formal budget was 245 billion dollars. It wound up being over 1 Trillion dollars because President-elect Obama asked W to sign it after voting in favor of TARP in December. So you history revisionist of the national socialist party can kiss my hairy reed. Suck it. I see you bought the Fox "news" propaganda. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 18802425 United States 09/20/2012 04:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Between the Constitution and 18 U.S.C. Section 2381, the United States probably has the narrowest definition of treason among all of the nations in the world. Breaking the crime down into the basic elements needed for conviction, we find: (1) the alleged traitor must owe allegiance to the United States, (2) he or she must levy war against the states, or (3) he or she must adhere to the enemies of the states, giving them aid and comfort. So, if a group of current and former, elected, Republican leaders met and formed a plan to intentionally weaken the American economy in time of war, that meeting might be said to be a conspiracy of individuals with clear duties of allegiance to the United States either agreeing to an act of war against the states or agreeing to give enemies of the United States aid and comfort. On the other hand, the conspirators must also "adhere" to the enemies of the United States. To the founders, "adhere" meant "to believe in," as one is an adherent to Islam or to Laissez-Faire Capitalism or to the Republican Party platform.... [link to www.opednews.com] |

Seriously, were a band of traitors to concoct a series of positions deliberately designed to weaken America, they would be hard pressed to beat the current GOP dogma —hobble education, starve the government by slashing taxes to the rich, kneecap attempts to jumpstart the economy by fixating on debt, invite corporations to dominate political discourse, balkanize the population by demonizing minorities and immigrants and let favored religions dictate social policy. What gave me pause, however, is that they beat me to it —for 15 years the Republicans have been treating Democrats as if believing in a government that addresses our common public problems is a form of sedition. Given how uniformly wrong they are, I’m loath to use any of their tactics, even one that has been so stunningly effective, convincing millions of Americans their best interests lie in coddling the rich and their champion is a stiff, dressage-riding multi-millionaire. That is exactly what Pennsylvania Republicans have done. They have betrayed their country and devised a scheme to potentially disqualify nearly one tenth of the states’ electorate. There has been a movement across this country of New Suppressionists – modern day practitioners of the Jim Crow laws enacted by the segregationists and white supremacists of the past they emulate. The goal of the New Suppressionists: to disenfranchise Democratic voters in an effort to win more elections. When generations look back at this period, it will go down as a shameful chapter. The fact is, in-person voter fraud is non-existent. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania cannot produce an example of voter fraud that necessitates this law. Not one! [link to sacramento.cbslocal.com] |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 18802425 United States 09/20/2012 04:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Some might call it 'treason' Author Michael Cohen wrote that Democrats are beginning to say publicly what has been whispered around Washington, that "Republicans are so intent on defeating President Obama for re-election that they are purposefully sabotaging the nation's economy." And Robert Draper, in his recent book "Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the House of Representatives," describes a meeting of Republican bigwigs that took place on the night of Obama's inauguration. There, a plan was made to "show united and unyielding opposition to the president's economic policies," regardless of merit. A week later, Republicans unanimously voted "no" on Obama's economic stimulus plan. All of this is consistent with Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell's disturbing 2010 call-to-arms, when he said, "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president." That's right. Not economic vitality. Not job creation. Not health care for all Americans. Not the rebuilding of our infrastructure. Not education reform. Just the defeat of President Obama. Treason usually involves waging war against one's own country. If these tales are borne out, should there not be some special version for those officials who wage economic war against America for pure political gain? [link to triblive.com] |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 18802425 United States 09/20/2012 04:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A Brief History of Republican Treason - from Nixon to Boehner As stubborn joblessness remained a severe crisis, the Republicans marched in lockstep this fall against any Obama plan for putting Americans back to work. Democrats began to recognize the obvious: the Republicans understood that a lousy economy was their best route back to full power in Washington, although Senate Majority Leader Reid tried to put most of the blame on Tea Party extremists. “That faction of the Republican Party is holding our economy hostage,” Reid declared. But this hostage-taking is nothing new. It has been a successful Republican tactic dating back to 1968 when Nixon took the Vietnam War and half a million U.S. soldiers hostage, through 1980 when Reagan took the Iran hostage crisis hostage, through George W. Bush taking the electoral process hostage in 2000, through today as the 14 million unemployed Americans and the millions more who are barely holding on have become the latest hostages.
