Please tell me the transit authority didn't fire him for being out of uniform. That's always how these stories end.

Re: Good Samaritan bus driver gives the shoes off of his feet, to a barefoot homeless man.
In my OWN singles group, I met a single mother of three, and in subsequent conversation, found out she had NO place to have Thanksgiving dinner, and no food for it either. Took her home, so I knew where she lived.

Went to supermaket next day, and bought the Turkey, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, etc. Then delivered same by leaving them outside her apartment door, knocked and went away. Thanksgiving is one VERY lonely time for singles with children and no immediate family to turn to. Ask one to your house this year.

Thanks, OP. First time I ever told about this, although it happened 36 years ago. There are many single mothers out there who suffer from shortages of food, clothing, etc.

A good deed doesn't always go 'unpunished' ! And, as Omar Kyam said in the Rubiad, " Be warned by my lot; which I know you will NOT."

Besides, it makes you feel VERY warm inside, afterwards.

Re: Good Samaritan bus driver gives the shoes off of his feet, to a barefoot homeless man.
In a world full of stresses, this really is a feel good story!

Kris, a city transit bus driver, saw a homeless man walking barefoot one day, the next day, it was cold and Kris saw the homeless man again walking on the sidewalk barefoot.
Kris pulled his bus over, got out, and gave the homeless man the shoes off of his own feet, then walked back to the bus on sock feet, got into the drivers seat and continued his route.

Never did Kris think another thing about his act of kindness, but one of his passengers told people about it and Kris’s act of kindness was soon on a local station and spread like wild fire.

Truly a wonderful story

If he could donate his suit and shaving cream and tonnes of axe to hide his aroma eau naturel, then homeless man can allly for a job.

Heck he could even give him a ride if he pulls the windows down and opens all doors.

Really? this is the only response... This was such a selfless act on Kris's part.

Has society gotten so worn down by all the world stresses, that we can no longer see the good in people?

Good luck trying to find a job in America without a phone and an address. Not to mention an unadressed mental illness.

Most homeless Americans from before the recession have mental illnesses. Part of what happened after de-institutionalization.

You can blame the churches which left God's word for songs and feel good verses.

It's what is called apostolic christianity.

If todays churches (most of them) actually preached the Word unapologetically they would lose their members, close up shop, and you wouldn't see all these 'Christians' ranting their 'beliefs' and then not following their own advice.

Don't blame Jesus.
