Re: Good Samaritan bus driver gives the shoes off of his feet, to a barefoot homeless man.
In my OWN singles group, I met a single mother of three, and in subsequent conversation, found out she had NO place to have Thanksgiving dinner, and no food for it either. Took her home, so I knew where she lived.

Went to supermaket next day, and bought the Turkey, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, etc. Then delivered same by leaving them outside her apartment door, knocked and went away. Thanksgiving is one VERY lonely time for singles with children and no immediate family to turn to. Ask one to your house this year.

It's very uplifting to see things like this peppering the hatred and intolerance and lack of empathy that all too often color the world.

Please tell me the transit authority didn't fire him for being out of uniform. That's always how these stories end.

If he could donate his suit and shaving cream and tonnes of axe to hide his aroma eau naturel, then homeless man can allly for a job.

Heck he could even give him a ride if he pulls the windows down and opens all doors.

Hey when's the last time you chubby cheeked angels helped someone back on their feet and not just gave them your hand-me-downs? When's the last time you bought a bagel and a coffee from starbucks (and included the cheese and marmalade - and the knife buster) and which of you do thos selfless act regularly to embetter the life and enrich the faith of humanity for a down and out?

How many of those in his town, his bus? his family? No? Then

"Chubby cheeked angels" Ha! That was not a "feeble gesture" on the part of the bus driver - I'm thinking he doesn't make too much money and it was a wonderful thing to do! You have no idea what good deeds people here on this thread do - perhaps just don't need to tell you about it. Hope you are doing YOUR best to make life easier for those less fortunate.

Great post OP! Loved it.

Thanks, OP. First time I ever told about this, although it happened 36 years ago. There are many single mothers out there who suffer from shortages of food, clothing, etc.

A good deed doesn't always go 'unpunished' ! And, as Omar Kyam said in the Rubiad, " Be warned by my lot; which I know you will NOT."

Besides, it makes you feel VERY warm inside, afterwards.

But this isnt about moi it is about the fake love being shown for a guy who coulda brought a pair of old shoes from home the next day but had to play the narcissistic sympathy seeker not too dissimilar to you and sk desperate are we for credit we even imagine it could be our own kin only to realise that the suga dont spread that far and wide and we are all really nothing more than selfish piggies though we pretend it isnt true and we arent really the hogs we are, chosing instead to blame Obama (for 2012 and beyond) goverment or those NWO WON OWN NOW types...

In a world full of stresses, this really is a feel good story!

Kris, a city transit bus driver, saw a homeless man walking barefoot one day, the next day, it was cold and Kris saw the homeless man again walking on the sidewalk barefoot.
Kris pulled his bus over, got out, and gave the homeless man the shoes off of his own feet, then walked back to the bus on sock feet, got into the drivers seat and continued his route.

Never did Kris think another thing about his act of kindness, but one of his passengers told people about it and Krisís act of kindness was soon on a local station and spread like wild fire.

Truly a wonderful story

So what are you really upset about? Certainly not the bus driver who gave his shoes away. I'm sorry you can't afford to help others, you need to take care of yourself - yes. But why be so upset about someone doing a good deed? And I use the smilies because sometimes they convey more than I can express in my own words.

Call me cynical, but nice shoes until he passes out under a bridge again and gets them stolen. Nice gesture, but will it help? Maybe so, maybe so.

Yes, because he knew that someone cared.
