In todays world, those pulling the strings would have to be saints in order to avoid the temptation to join the crowd. I don't think capitalism is a sustainable system. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1012969 Why is he even allowed in this country? He is an enemy of the world. Monstano needs to be raided by the national guard and destroyed. Horrifying! Absolutely horrifying! Perhaps a more appropriate measure would be to force the collective of Monsanto executives and scientists responsible for unleashing this blight on humanity, to be mandated to consume the detritus of their own products in perpetuity and exclusively. In essence those who's will it is to produce and market foods for consumption must be their own guinea pigs for as long as they profit form their poisonous lot. But this will never happen. |

"Monsatan" it's well documented they won't even serve it to their employees in the company headquarters cafeteria. That's as much an admission of guilt as you can get. "It's OK for you, but even WE won't eat the crap" is the message sent. It takes THREE times as much water to grow the stuff as non-gm crops. Farmers taking it up the backside. If a farmer orders 3 tons of seeds this year, and only uses 2 tons, under contract they have to throw the extra away. They can't save it for next year without paying a huge fine. Farmers can't plant part of their fields for seed, because the seeds are sterile. They used to be able to save the seeds. Farmers also used to save seeds from a years crop that did particularly well. Sometimes saving it with other crops seeds from good years also and by that, producing consecutively better yields naturally. Now there's Roundup resistant weeds and insects that can't be eradicated by ANY herb or pesticide. Hugely affecting farmers operating costs because of having to hire "laborers" (you know where they're from) to pick weeds by hand. They used to rotate different herb and pesticides also so when one stopped working, they could shift to another. Not anymore. Farmers used to be able to rotate crops every year. Keeping the soil healthy. Different crops deplete the soil of different nutrients. So this year they plant corn, the next year they could go to soy or wheat or whatever. This kept the soil's nutrients in balance naturally. Now, because of what it does to the soil, if they plant gm corn in a field, they'll have to plant corn there every year forever. If they plant soy in a field, they'll always have to plant soy there, not being able to rotate the crops like has been done for thousands of years. Indian farmers were sold a bad "batch" of rice seeds (the nations staple) last year. The seeds were faulty and didn't take and they can't replant. even if they could, it would be against their Monsanto contract. They lost most of this years rice crop. The Indian farmers beat the crap out of the Monsanto rep, while he was in one of their fields sent there to talk to them. This is forcing the people of an agricultural society into the cities, where there's no work, and they're taking what they can get, which is OUR jobs sent over there for cheap labor (conspiracy, anyone?). Suicide is so common among Indian farmers that they say "he's been "Monsantoed" when one kills himself. Monsanto also checks the crops of non-gmo farmers close to their gmo fields to make sure no gm plants are growing in their fields. If they find so much as ONE plant, from a seed dropped by a bird or animal or blown over by the wind, they sue the NON-gmo farmer out of existence for growing their "product" without Monsanto's licensing or registration. The list of negatives is so long it's insane. As insane as the people shilling for the company. |

[link to www.forbes.com] The studies that were done on GM food are not the most scientific ones that are out there... We can argue that not all GM food is healthy, fine, but to claim that it kills human offspring? There could be literally hundreds of other factors in such cases... If you watch the video they express the DANGERS of "silencing genes". Watch it to get the explanation. "Every 35 days your skin replaces itself. Your liver, about a month. Your body makes these new cells from the food you eat. What you eat literally becomes you." So do you now see how IMPORTANT it is to question genetic changes? About your Forbes link: I read other GMO articles written by Worstall and I think he is biased towards protecting biotech corporations. In this article he claims the study he questions is biased because it was funded by an organic food group, but how is that any different than a biotech led study? Does he not question those due to bias? Also, if GMOs are safe, then why do biotech companies fight so hard against labeling them as such? Are they not "proud of their 'safe' product? Instead they are pouring millions of dollars to keep their product hidden from the public... this shows something more sinister in my opinion. |
