Ok, so there's a planetary alignment today (21st September) which is known to co-incide with 6+ events. There's a large number of asteroids doing a fly-by on the 26th (these are also associated with higher than average sized quakes. Also EQ of magnitude 7 is not "devastating". It is called significant or major. The real shit starts from 8+, depending on location and depth.
