They'll never do it, because the gold reserves is ~gone.
Quoting: shenandoah 2636202 Exactly. The government would have to buy up reserves and that wouldn't go unnoticed. We could switch to an energy-based currency butm that's probably too 'sci-fi' for our government still, even though it's an idea that goes back to the 1920s....
