Re: Sinner's Prayer and how to be saved
work out your own salvation as the bible says and release the lie of the soul and remember you are spirit in an ark and that spirit existed before the creation..for the creation can only bind the creation on earth as it is in heaven but spirit fellow creators are not bound on earth or in heaven..who told you ,you were a sinner? only so called souls need to be told what is right and what isn't...the spirit knows to love its self so it will love others of the spirit..everyone carries the spirit from before and after birth into the creation but the lie of the soul smothers the light from shinning forth as it should...singing> this growing light of Mine ,I'm letting it shine ,this growing light of Mine I'm letting it shine ,letting it shine ,letting it shine ,letting it shinehearts...Romans 8:14 says the word MANY and calls us the sons of god but also means daughters of god also...and since the son is the same as the father/god,and the daughter is the same as the mother/goddess, we are all the creator..for within the male form is the divine feminine and within the female form is the divine masculine, thus we of spirit(and that's everyone but the lie of the soul binds some on earth and in heaven)are fellow creators...our arks/bodys do not use 5 senses and walk and talk without the spirit that existed before the creation..without the spirit, the ark crumbles into dust...ask yourselves,do you follow the creation or do you follow the spirit? we have always been saved, for we have always existed..everyone can save themselves by remembering whom they were ,whom they are and whom they will be in their next incarnation into the creation...we are thrown into the sea of forgetfulness every incarnation into the creation and we must drop the beast/soul coming out of this sea of forgetfulness by remembering we are spirit and everyone is a creator...unconditional love is the key and reminding our self's we are better and beyond the creation..

+1...

Look within, remember who you are, save yourself.

No religious dogma required.

THIS ^...it really is that simple,,,,but hard to do and even harder to remember to do.

We are not justified by praying one time.

Shout it from the rooftops. Times are serious,
heresies gotta be called out. Protestants will not
let go of the heresy of "Sola Fide." And more heresies
have come from it. This thread topic is a perfect example.

Justification is life long...until the moment you
die.

I'm not sure if the OP mentioned that you only needed to pray this prayer one time, I'm sure that was not the OP's intent. This is an example of a prayer that you can use for each and every time you have recognized that you have sinned. You don't have to say these exact words in that exact order, it is more about the spirit of the prayer than the letter of it.

Thanks for your reply hf. Sincere questions though...saying the sinners prayer every time you sin mortally? Where is that in the Bible Alone? I thought it
was the one time altar call?

Non-Catholic Christians reject Our Lord's words in establishing Confession to a priest (John 20:23). I thought every verse in Scripture was inerrant? So many holes. Protestants insist instead, we must confess our sins to one another so...
do you say your sins specifically out loud when you pray
the "sinners prayer" each and every time you commit a serious sin (mortal)? How is saying the "sinners prayer"
confessing your sins to one another? I have Protestant friends, they never do this....

God bless you R.S.,

Thank you, and God bless you also :-)

I do not pretend to have all the answers, and I am always learning new things (at least I hope I am...). I believe that the words we use are not as important as the honesty in our heart. Personally, I simply talk to God in my head throughout the day :-)
 Quoting: Rising Son

Wonderful habit, prayer is R.S. You will be okay,
just keep on your heart, remember...well everyone too,
the most Holy Eucharist, Confession to a priest and
Our Lord's mother's help. Ah....the grace given. dogpile

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." - Revelation 21:4

Truth needs no validation because it is self-evident and undeniable. Therefore, anything that requires validation to be realized or justified as truth must contain at least some degree of falsehood.

Re: Sinner's Prayer and how to be saved
The belief that saves is actually a very strong belief......not just mere intellectual assent.

You are believing in Him......placing your full trust in Him.....and following Him.

Jesus: "Deny yourself, take up the cross, and follow Me."

Repentance always accompanies saving faith.

Christ: "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel." (Mark 1: 15)

Christ: "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations..." (Luke 24: 46-47)

"Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing.

"For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death."

2 Cor. 7: 9-10

As you are turning away from your previous life of sin and giving your life to Christ.....God sees this. He examines a person's heart and mind. Those genuine in their faith are immediately indwelt by the Holy Spirit and connected with God. The indwelling Spirit then helps a person to grow in the Lord.

At that time you are declared just.....justified.....by God......declared "not guilty"......based on what Christ did on the cross. You are clothed in His righteousness......and seen as white by the Father.

God's grace is upon you.......unmerited favor.

Although I am nothing but a wretched sinner....with probably a million sins.....deserving of nothing but God's punishment.......I am declared "Not Guilty." Christ has already taken the punishment for me.....and I am seen as white.

Praise God for His mercy.

How does the "sinners prayer" turn you away from
sin? Do you mean, your entire life? I didn't know
saying the "sinners prayer" makes you a saint here.

Sounds so easy. Explain.

That imputation business again. Jesus takes all your sins, I guess, the sins of your life and for some reason, you're in. No where is this in Scripture, the nonsense of imputation.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20541213

Paul to Christians (notice the past tense used):

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

"Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him."

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who ae in Christ Jesus.....

To the first group of Christians.....predestined to be children of God:

"Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified."

Peter to Christians:

"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy."

(Catholics do not even believe Peter about the above statement)

From Romans Chp 8:

"But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

"And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

"But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raise Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

"The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God."

God is holy. Your first sin kills you....and cuts you off from God. This is why Christ said that you must be born again.....born of the Spirit.

My body is currently dead because of sin.....and the only thing good about me is the Spirit of God who lives inside me......who came there after I gave my life to Christ.

Re: Sinner's Prayer and how to be saved
“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”

Thanks, was rather similar to my prayer already but this is more exact and less awkward sounding. :0)

Paul to Christians:

"Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has annointed us in God, who also has SEALED US and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a deposit. (2 Cor. 1: 21-22)

"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom YOU WERE SEALED for the day of redemption." (Eph 4: 30)

Peter:

"And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.

"Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, 'John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'

"If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?"

When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, "Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life."
