Everyday on my way to work, there is a guy at the off ramp light holding his sign trying to get some money. The amount of time the guy puts in he could probably get a job stocking shelves or doing something. All of us at work know of him, a coworker said as he drove by the guy was standing with his sign talking on a cell phone.
Times have changed and people are messed up. They do not have their priority's straight.
I grew up: - without a cell phone, we had one phone in the house with a rotary dial and a cord. - without cable tv. We had an antenna on the TV. - with the encyclopedia 5 miles away in a library. - using real money - no credit cards. If you didn't have the money, you didn't get it. - returning the glass soda bottles for a deposit refund - less trash - we didn't call it recycling, we call it being smart. - without a microwave oven, we popped our popcorn on the stove - you had to wait, it was a treat - not supper. - we butchered chickens, pigs, ducks, and canned our own food. If they seen us cleaning chickens today the police would throw us in jail for animal cruelty - I hope everyone understands that those chicken nuggets are picked off of chicken trees.
Society reminds me of little birds in a nest - if someone isn't feeding them everything they have they would starve. As overweight as society is - maybe the government should reduce the benefits to give them less food so they could loose a little weight.
