Wow.... We went to Costco tonight in Northern California, and the choice beef was $19.99 per POUND !! Also, everything we normally buy has gone up by at least -$1.00 - The organic whole chickens were 2 for $20 2 months ago, and NOW they are $30 to $35 for same 2 chickens!!

NOW, food for a family of four is costing $375 every 2 weeks (no food stamps here). Our weekly food bill has doubled this year!! Inflation is before our eyes. I had an anxiety attack shopping. I am very particular in purchasing REAL WHOLESOME FOODs for my family. I no longer buy any corn products because of GMOs. We stay away from high fructose corn syrup. I read the back of everything I buy and I find myself putting most of the food back on the shelf because of the junk in it.

My business that I have had for over 23 years is failing. For the first time in my life, I am very worried and concerned. I am making major changes to my life asap because I do not see any other way to survive. I take pride in taking care of myself and family. I do not want to go onto the governments tit for support. Is anyone else seeing the changes that I am seeing or struggling like I am struggling??

My spouse wants us to sell everything we own and move to IDAHO. Spouse wants us to prepare for a complete financial and government collaspe and he wants to grow and raise our own food. What do you think (your opinion is welcomed)??

I say pick up, and move. I lived in South Central Idaho (Burley) for a few years, it was pretty nice. There were a lot of friendly people, and lots of resources down there. They had a boat regatta on the snake river every year there. That was fun to watch. I live in Northern Wyoming now, not far from, "Devil's Tower". I only moved here for more money. Now I love it, because of the open space, and nice scenery! Hardly anyone one lives here! I grow a garden every year, there are plenty of deer, antelope, and slow elk. We have No taxes on food, no state tax, and we always seem to have the lowest gas prices in the nation. I have lots of wind, for my wind generator. Some people do not like that part. I have lots of wood, for my wood stove. Also, the cold winters here, keep out a lot of the riff raff!

Hubby here: Its me that wants to move. She wants to stay. She is very attached also like your wife.
I am 46. Young enough to rebuild our lives and I actually crave the challenge. About 4 months ago I caught a strange viral infection in my lungs that nearly killed me (3 days on life support).
I have since fully recovered but it has changed me.
I want to experience farm life. I am completely green I admit. But I really long for a more real existence.

Give her a little time to get use to the idea. It took some time for me to get use to the idea of moving 40 miles from a city into the country but now I love it. Maybe 40 miles doesn't seem like a lot to some people but it was huge for me since I was use to having everything close. Now I am glad things aren't close.:0)
