Season's First Midwest Snow on Social Media A vigorous upper-air disturbance, and just enough cold air combined to squeeze out the season's first snow in parts of northeast Minnesota and northern Wisconsin overnight Sep. 21 into early Sep. 22, 2012, just in time for the official arrival of fall. In some areas, this snow was about a month earlier than the long-term average for the season's first measurable snow, and was enough to cover grass and car tops. Pictures at link [ link to www.weather.com] Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24246022 It isn't the first time I've seen snow in September here near Hayward, WI, but its been quite a while. This didn't last very long, though.
