| novamom User ID: 21938356 09/24/2012 10:00 AM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | How many hours in a week do I have to work to earn $60,000 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1331460 In Minnesota the Minimum wage is only $6.15 and that is what I am forced to work or have no job at all. This sucks I have never had a job with this low of wages and I have a degree. Most places I apply for say I'm over qualified and now I work for this shit $6.15 uhm, then get a job that pays better. Not up to us to find that for you. If you have any type of skill, you should be able to do better than minumum wage. If not, move. Moving was the only way my husband and I were able to make as much as we do. He started at GE in Erie back in 2003, we moved to Vegas in 2005 so e could work at JT3, then to N. VA in 2007 for a different company, and we have been here since (and plan to stay here). While he was starting his civilian career and we were moving around, I worked on finishing my degree and having 4 babies. Now the last baby has one more year and will be starting school and I can work full time rather than part time. Some people either are afraid to move or to stubborn, but in most career fields, unless you live in a big city with many companies, you either move or hope to get lucky when somebody retires or quits because they realized they could be make a ton more cash for the same job. Or they use the excuse they dont have the money to move.. find a good compny and they pay the moving expenses and a lot of times put you up for a few month so you can find a house. | Psychobilly User ID: 23773057 09/24/2012 10:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Started off making $10 an hour fixing PC's Quoting: Psychobilly Set my sight on better job. 34k working in IT at a bank. Then got greedy again. On site IT at a corporate prison camp. 55k Then Oracle partner came in and infected the place with Oracle ERP applications and databases. 70k year. Left that place got snatched up by Oracle partner 80k a year. That Oracle partner fizzled and went onto another database management corporate prison camp @ 110k year. Then I woke up and figured out how miserable I was no matter the money. So I have read every single book there is on the LOA. The Secret. All that rubbish. Then I figured out all this stuff was horse shit as far as the charlatans pushing the LOA and riding that train. I won the lottery the first time, 100k. Paid off 2nd mortgage. and some of 1st mortgage. FF 2 years. Relative I never met passed away. Received 300k inheritance. Now I work part time as a consultant while I await my next goal, which is going to be 7 figures. I don't usually speak to personal friends about this stuff and how it works. I have in the past and all I get is "That shit doesn't work" and I go "yes, your absolutely right, it doesn't work." And "They" are right. It doesn't work. My advice to my older daughter. Find something you like to do, because if your making big cash but dread your job, the cash means little. Nice. Funny how it all lines up. The minute you quit caring about money, it flows, and you have no use for it. Good to speak to you. How's your instinct? I don't really think too much about instinct I guess. I mostly focus on a feeling. If you are waking up feeling dread, your going to only attract more dread to yourself. If you find yourself dreading your circumstances, all you are going to encounter is things that support your state of being. More things to make you feel the dread. What I do is try to remain unemotional towards the things I do not like. I do not under any circumstance give them power. Instead I meditate on a feeling and take that with me through the day. I zone out a lot. I get myself into a trance like state no matter where I'm at or what's happening around me several times a day to conjure up that feeling of having what I want as if I already had it. Brainwashing? Yes, that's what it absolutely is. To me, a 40 hour work week is absolutely soul-crushing. People are creating machines. LIke it or not, all of this came from somewhere. Call it God, whatever. We are aspects of that. That's why when we are so involved in something there is no time. I replicate that no-time in my meditations. That's why when you create something it feels so good. That's our natural state. That's why people who've had NDE's explain that joy. That's our natural state. Survival mode is a tool, just for that. Survival. It's not supposed to be turned on constantly. That's the opposite of creation. How do you know if your doing it right? 40 minutes passes in what seems like 5 minutes. That's how you connect, if you will. We've all been there. Whether it's writing, playing music or meditating. It's all the same. You come out of it and are like "WTF? An hour went by????" Work is another thing. That's why time drags. Your not connecting with your souls desire, which is to create. To me, being in IT, supporting the matrix is soul robbing at its best. I feel as though I'm contributing to the demise of humanity. Everything has to be better and faster so people have more time to have more work and more stress and it all leads to NOWHERE. So, the only solution for me is to be OUT. Completely. I could care less what reality says as far as what is external to me. Inside, I am out of the Matrix. That soul robbing 40 + hour rat race. To me there's nothing worse. I hated it so bad I felt there was nothing left for me to do on this planet. So, I weighed my options. I could take control of my thoughts and change my reality, or I could just kill myself. Being I have kids, I chose the former. We are reality creating machines. However when your living in survival and feeling that state of survival all the time, forget about creating anything new in your life. Not going to happen. You must sit down and reinvent yourself, conjure up the feeling of having what you want NOW and stay in that state no matter what. That's how it works. Not by sitting there and envisioning a new you one minute and the next freaking out about all the things in your life that you despise.
