Cat goes to vet for flea bath and gets euthanized...(Bless this little creature as he crossed over Rainbow Bridge)

Conway had an appointment for both of his cats to have flea baths, but since they can't ride in the same car at the same time, he had to bring them separately. He says he dropped Lady off first, filled out some paperwork and left to pick up the second cat.

When he returned, he learned of the mix up.

"He asked me if I wanted to keep the bodies," says Conway. "It was like a blank stare back at each other for the first 10 seconds, then he immediately grabbed the papers I thought were registration forms and told me I had signed the papers."

Dr. Malik originally agreed to talk to FOX 25 about what happened, but then deferred to his attorney, Michael Sheridan, who could not be reached for comment despite several attempts.

Agree. Had to put my elderly kitty to sleep several years ago. The vet spoke with me for 10 minutes & asked me multiple times if i was certain before we proceeded.

I stayed with her the entire time while it was done & the vet let me have the exam room after it was finished to hold her for as long as I needed.

Whoever this vet is, he should discontinue offering euthanizing services.

But to be fair the Vet out the back was handed a signed form autherising the procedure, They would have had no idea it was a mistake.

The woman should have read what she was signing, I mean who the fuck signs a document without reading what it is. thats retarded

Don't get me wrong, its sad and shit, but its not all the vets fault, it was a classic cluster fuck

I cannot dispute that she should have read the documents. I never sign anything without a detailed reading.

I still feel that due professional diligence should include a face to face when such an irrevocable procedure is performed. The fact that kitty was healthy should have been an indicator that questions should have been asked.

My kitty had diabetes, severe arthritis, & severe allergies but still my vet made very certain I had thought the decision through. Even so, just thinking about that day has me crying as I write this.
