WOW, the age of consent in the US is 18? Seriously? I didn't know that. In Britain it's 16, and in France 15.

Wow. In our society we feel our children ARE children until age 18. Our 16 year old is dating an 18 yr old and we feel that's pushing it. The teacher would be prosecuted as a sex offender in the US. You guys really think a 30 year old man should have sex with a 15 yr old?

"THE parents of a girl who ran away to France with her teacher were taken to hospital after a suspected joint suicide bid.

An ambulance crew carried them from their home on stretchers apparently suffering from overdoses.

It is understood the mother called the emergency services. The couple were in a stable condition last night.
