I couldn't understand it no matter what. That symbol represents the murder of 10's of millions under the false illusion that Utopia is possible.

The Germans were incredibly brutal to the civilian population. Much of the fighting occurred in cities and densely populated areas. Over a million people starved in Leningrad, which was almost completely cut off from supplies for over a year. German soldiers routinely confiscated food, livestock, clothes and other necessities from the Russian people, leaving them to starve and freeze during the cold winter. Soviet POWs were treated horribly, often no better than jewish people. They were either employed as slave labor or simply gassed to death. The scale of the fighting was vastly greater on the eastern front. The Soviets didn't surrender, like the French, and they could not hide behind a body of water, like the Brits and the Yankees. They had to man a front from the Arctic Ocean to the Caucus mountains. There were no good options for them. They had to do what they had to do, and we should be thankful that it was them, not us. If the Soviets didn't hold out, there wouldn't have been a D-Day. The poster is talking about before and after the war. Before the war Lenin and Stalin murdered millions. After the war Stalin and his successors murdered and sent to gulags millions more. As far as war crimes the wehrmacht report on soviet war crimes might be instructive. It is a thick book. Katyn forest you might know about. At any rate the issue isn't about the eastern front and what happened there. I see you beat me to it. The guy ignored the timeline, as you pointed out. National Socialism was in response to the Communist threat. After the war the Soviets systematically gang-raped over TWO MILLLION German women. Then there were Eisenhower's death camps which killed through exposure and starvation over ONE MILLION SEVEN HUNDRED THOUSAND Germans.
