This is bullshit. The officer felt in fear for his partner's life, and was forced to shoot. No one else was there, so we have no right to second guess his decision.

what i don't understand about these cop killings is why they have to shoot to kill. why no just shoot them in the leg or arm? But no.....this one they had to shoot a armless, legless, wheelchaired bound man in the head

I think the emotions should be somewhere in the middle... vitriolic pro and against is not helping anyone.

Cops are supposed to be trained to handle situations like this... and only use a weapon as a last resort. It is difficult to understand why the officer, when at such a close range, would not distinguish between a gun and a pen.

There would be no other reason to 'fear for life..' as either officer may be injured by a pen, or wheelchair -- and had a right to defend themselves to that extent... cause injury to wheelchair bound individual if necessary to disarm situation. Shooting twice in head, does seem a bit extreme.

Now, if wheelchair bound man was saying 'I am going to kill you...' 'I have aids and my blood is on this pen.'... then perhaps there was a legitimate threat.

Both sides need to calm down and wait for more information to be released.
